Description of Service
The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, enhancing reporting accuracy, and aligning technology solutions with evolving business needs. This role involves deep collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, testers, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-impact solutions across multiple domains such as financial systems, loan management and underwriting applications.
Primary Responsibilities
Solution Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead business analysis efforts for multiple applications including troubleshooting, reporting, and team alignment.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and iterative product refinement.
  • Facilitate alignment meetings and support requirement discovery, development, and testing.

Strategic Planning & Problem Recognition

  • Proven experience working in environments with limited or no existing documentation, including the ability to independently reverse?engineer current?state functionality
  • Facilitate discussions and collaboration with business stakeholders to elicit, refine, prioritize, and document functional requirements across business and technology teams.

Business Requirements & Solution Design

  • Define and validate business requirements for various software enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
  • Guide development teams to ensure solutions meet business expectations and compliance standards.

Financing & Loan Management Systems

  • Collaborate with IT architects to support strategic planning and roadmap development.
  • Present issues to teams and support the Product Owner in managing cross-functional expectations.
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications for financing pricing models

Agile Practices & Continuous Improvement

  • Adapt and refine Agile and business analysis practices to align with organizational culture and governance.
  • Ability to independently decompose complex system functionality into well?defined Epics, Features, and user stories
  • Promote best practices in requirement gathering, stakeholder engagement, and solution delivery.
Specific Project Requirements, if any
  • Identify and assess business needs.
  • Create user stories and clear acceptance criteria in ADO.
  • Collaborate with team and triage problem tickets and bugs.
  • Work closely with the development team on solutioning and RCA.
  • Support the user with their User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate deployment documentation and approvals.
Skill and Qualification Requirements
Top Skills Required:
  • Experience working with financial systems, loan management and underwriting applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Expertise in transitioning legacy software solutions to modern platforms.
  • Strong experience1 writing high-quality user stories in Azure DevOps.

Assets:

  • Ability to create and leverage screen mock-ups and visual artifacts using leading industry tools such as Miro or Mural. 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$90.00
