Job Title: Sr Data Analyst

Location: Burlington, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 8 Months

We are seeking a hands on Data Analyst to evaluate and improve the quality, structure, and integrity of our data. This role will focus on understanding how our data is generated, identifying patterns and anomalies, diagnosing gaps in data quality, and delivering actionable recommendations that help us mature our data ecosystem.

You will work closely with business and data stakeholders, technical teams, and process owners to translate raw data into insights and help guide the next steps in data quality, data pipeline improvements, and analytics readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze data across multiple systems to identify trends, inconsistencies, and data quality issues.
  • Evaluate current processes that ingest, generate and transform data; map data flows and find root causes of quality problems.
  • Perform detailed data profiling, cleansing analysis, and integrity checks.
  • Design and develop SQL queries, transformations, and validation scripts.
  • Create clear documentation of findings, data models, and recommendations.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to propose improvements to data generation, validation, and governance processes.
  • Visualize insights using dashboards or reports (Superset).
  • Contribute to building standards for data quality monitoring and ongoing measurement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role within a financial institution, or fintech with good understanding of consumer credit data.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, and window functions.
  • Hands?on experience with PostgreSQL and relational database systems.
  • Ability to investigate data issues, reconcile mismatches, and conduct root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts and understanding of how upstream processes impact data quality.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem?solving skills.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into business?friendly language.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Superset, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization, use of global utilities, and standards

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$95.00
