Sr. PowerBI Developer

Any specific tools/skillset:

Experience working with PBI
PBI Service in Azure
PBI Desktop for building reports
PBI Report Builder for building paginated reports
Connecting PBI Desktop to Azure Synapse and Databricks
Implementing Row Level Security Data models
Creating PBI data Sets
Creating DAX queries to manipulate data in PBI

Deliverables:
– Reports and Dashboards created must be WCAG compliant
– All calculated fields must be correct.

Description of Work: Build PBI Reports and Dashboards to meet project requirements and provide warranty support thereafter

What is required

• Design, curate, and publish self-service connected datasets, models, and pipelines within proper controls to meet business require.
• Build insights: complete data analysis and discovery to better understand the data and the story it is telling to drive actionable results. Deliver results in accessible BI products (reports and dashboards).
• Identify opportunities for improvement and/or automation in Business Intelligence service and support offerings and processes.
• Assess complex BI use cases and come up with a solution that optimizes performance and translates big data into meaningful reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with the core data platform team, business units and Data Visualization Community of Practice to build reports and dashboards that meet the needs of the business and aligns to best practices.

Skill and Experience:

• Post-secondary education in Data & Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of applied business intelligence experience.
• Knowledge of report development, data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and strong organization skills.
• Mindset for teamwork and collaboration.
• Experience working with an Agile Framework an asset.
• Experience with SQL, DAX and  Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Data flows. Power BI Services.
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud technologies (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, etc.) an asset
