Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Disability Management & Health Services Specialist to support the delivery and continuous improvement of Health Services programs. Reporting to the Lead, Disability Management, this role plays a key part in promoting safe, healthy, and supportive work environments through effective disability management, return-to-work, and wellbeing initiatives.
This position is ideal for a results-oriented professional with expertise in health, wellbeing, and disability management who is passionate about making a positive impact on employee health and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Support the ongoing delivery, development, and enhancement of Health Services programs in alignment with corporate and departmental commitments

Implement approved health initiatives while ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and all applicable legislation

Provide subject matter expertise related to return-to-work determinations and medical assessments

Support and ensure return-to-work expectations through program development and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with internal and external medical management partners

Provide subject matter expertise in the management of occupational and non-occupational illness and injury

Manage return-to-work and disability-related referrals, including case management responsibilities

Support and execute integrated disability management and wellbeing programs

Deliver customized health promotion and employee education initiatives

Assist in the development of strategies to address and mitigate workplace health risks

Develop employee communications to promote awareness and increase participation in wellbeing programs

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support Health Services initiatives

Support innovative and effective strategies that promote attendance management and a culture of continuous improvement

Work closely with management to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Human Resources policies and legislative requirements

Ensure Health Services programs remain current with changing legislation, regulations, and best practices

Contribute to the development, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators and program metrics

Actively promote and collaborate with key stakeholders in the communication and delivery of Health Services programs and services

Provide occupational health services support during emergency response situations, as required
Qualifications
-
Post-secondary education in health sciences, occupational health, disability management, or a related field

Training and/or experience in disability management and return-to-work programs
-
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and related regulatory requirements

Experience managing occupational and non-occupational illness and injury cases

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver health promotion and wellbeing initiatives

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills

Strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience in reporting and metrics

Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $40.00 and $48.00
