Job Title: Sr. ServiceNow Developer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 8 Months

Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow expert to join our IT operations team and lead a full-scale modernization of our ServiceNow platform. You will be our resident SME — architecting, implementing, optimizing, and driving adoption across ITSM, CMDB, automations, integrations, and user experience. You’ll operate with significant autonomy and visibility; your insights, designs, and execution will help define the foundation of our future operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain three ServiceNow environments (development, test, production) including upgrades, instance cloning, code deployment, housekeeping, and cleanup.
  • Architect and deploy a robust, automated CMDB, integrating with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune/Azure) and any discovery/data sources.
  • Design and implement end-to-end business & IT automations for service requests, approvals, lifecycle transitions, notifications, etc.
  • Structure categories and subcategories, define forms, logic, UI flows, and conditional visibility for a clean, scalable catalog.
  • Build a new Employee Center / portal from the ground up — intuitive, branded, high-adoption experience.
  • Define and enforce logical SLAs, process flows, and leadership dashboards/reports to track performance.
  • Enable effective use and expansion of the Service Requests / Catalog module, aligning with business needs.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with key systems (especially Workday) via APIs, middleware, or custom connectors.
  • Implement access policies, ACLs/security rules, and governance to ensure compliance and data security.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to internal team members.
  • Handle ServiceNow-related support tickets and enhancements — balancing reliability with innovation.

Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills

  • Deep hands-on experience with ServiceNow development & configuration: scripting (server + client), workflows, Flow Designer, business rules, UI policies, integration APIs
  • Strong knowledge of CMDB design, data modeling, discovery, and synchronization strategies
  • Experience working with APIs / REST / SOAP / JSON web services / GLIDE / Javascript
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure / Intune / Endpoint Manager and integration with ServiceNow
  • Proven experience with release management, instance administration, upgrade cycles, code versioning
  • Strong grasp of ITSM / ITIL v4 best practices
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Awareness of security, compliance, audit-ready design

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform
  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) — required
  • Certified Application Developer (CAD) — highly preferred
  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or equivalent is a strong asset
  • Experience in regulated / financial / audit / security-conscious environments is beneficial
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience or familiarity with DevOps / CI-CD, branching, code review, project management is a plus

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$75.00
