Job Title: Superintendent – Mechanical Piping
Location: 1500 Lamar Street, Quintana, TX,77541 (100% Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Position Summary
The Superintendent – Mechanical Piping serves as the senior onsite technical assurance representative for all mechanical piping construction activities. This role is responsible for ensuring piping installations, fabrication, welding, testing, inspections, and commissioning activities are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and FLNG quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead all onsite mechanical piping construction activities for the FLNG project.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental regulations, and safe work practices.
- Oversee pipe fabrication, installation, welding, supports, assemblies, pressure testing, coating, insulation, and commissioning activities.
- Manage contractor performance, construction quality, productivity, schedules, and cost commitments.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, engineers, designers, vendors, QC teams, and construction management.
- Monitor project progress, conduct inspections, audits, and implement corrective actions.
- Review contractor inspection/testing programs and assign technical assurance inspectors.
- Prepare punch lists, oversee rework activities, and support project risk management.
- Ensure compliance with ASME codes, industry standards, and project quality requirements.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to construction teams, inspectors, and coordinators.
- Support construction through pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.

Must-Have Skills (Top 5)
- 15+ years of Mechanical Piping Construction supervision on large EPC/LNG/Oil & Gas/Industrial projects.
- Strong Mechanical Piping expertise including fabrication, installation, welding, hydro/pneumatic testing, coating, and insulation.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3, PFI/PIPs, welding procedures, QA/QC, NDE, and industry Codes & Standards.
- Construction leadership with experience managing contractors, safety, quality, schedules, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications and coordinate effectively with engineers, designers, vendors, and construction teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman certification in Mechanical/Piping Trade.
- Experience on LNG, FLNG, Petrochemical, Refinery, or large Industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning and startup of natural gas facilities.
- Experience leading technical assurance inspectors and construction coordinators.
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $85.00 and $95.00
