Job Title: Tech Lead – Agentic AI Development

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 7 Months

The Tech Lead for Agentic AI Development is responsible for the technical design, delivery, and operationalization of autonomous AI systems that can reason, plan, and act across enterprise workflows. This role sits at the intersection of advanced AI engineering, systems architecture, and team leadership, ensuring that agentic solutions are safe, scalable, and aligned to business intent.  This role will be helping to build out the foundational Agentic AI platform.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership

  1. Own technical execution of agentic AI solutions from PoC ? MVP ? Production
  2. Define and enforce engineering standards for agent workflows, orchestration logic, and integrations
  3. Lead design and implementation of:
    1. Agent planning and reasoning loops
    2. Tool / API integrations and action execution
    3. Memory, context management, and retrieval patterns
    4. Guardrails, escalation policies, and human-in-the-loop flows

Architecture & Quality

  1. Partner with Architects and Product leaders to align on:
    1. Autonomy boundaries and decision thresholds
    2. Security, privacy, and compliance expectations
    3. Observability, logging, and auditability of agent actions
  2. Ensure solutions meet enterprise SDLC and reliability standards
  3. Review and unblock complex technical issues (performance, failure modes, agent drift)

Delivery & Team Leadership

  1. Act as a hands-on lead, setting the quality bar through design reviews and code reviews
  2. Mentor developers on agentic patterns and AI-safe engineering practices
  3. Coordinate internal and vendor contributions to ensure coherence and quality Governance & Operational Readiness
  4. Drive production readiness, including:
    1. Release criteria and rollback strategies
    2. Monitoring and alerting for autonomous behaviors
    3. Ongoing performance tuning and technical debt management
    4. Help translate Responsible AI principles into enforceable technical controls

Technical Skills

  1. Databricks – Jobs, Unity Catalog, Environment Setup and Management, Deployments
  2. Azure – Azure AI services, any experience with AI Foundry welcomed
  3. MLOps and Application SDLC – Deployments, Lifecycle, Governance
  4. CI/CD – Deployment Pipelines, Source Control

Agentic Workloads – Agents, Tool Usage, Registry, Monitoring
 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110.00 and CA$120.00
