Technical Architecture Specialist / Systems Integrator

Our client in the Public Transportation space is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Systems Integrator to work with their Application Modernization Project team, who can lead technical aspects of the project and contribute to successful delivery of the project during planning and implementation stages using SDLC /PMI methodologies. 
 
This Modernization Project is aimed to replace the 25-year-old legacy system and its interfaces with a modernized tool that will address increased operational demands, have enhanced functionality, and be compliant with the legislative and security (CISO) requirements. It will allow the Client’s Permits & Enforcements staff to provide the services more efficiently when issuing and processing approx. 45,000 permits and facilitating annual revenue generation. The system is used by Transportation Services, Engineering & Construction Services, and 3rd parties' utilities companies (Enbridge, Rogers, Bell) staff as well.  

Assignment Duties
The Technical Architecture Specialist (Sr. Systems Integrator (SSI)) will work as a part project team to provide technical services and technical leadership in support of the project performing duties during Requirements gathering, Design and Development Stages (in SDLC) and COTS Procurement assigned as per the following:
 
1. Facilitate and contribute to the design, development/configuration, and testing new solution, including formalized project deliverables within SDLC and chosen methodologies. Identify opportunities for business process improvements by applying the technology in consultation with business and technical stakeholder. 2. Document and/or apply the changes to Systems Requirements, FR/NFR, Interface/Integration Design Documents (IDDs), Solution Design Review Document (SDRD) and others supplementary specifications including Data flows, API and ETL Specifications/Jobs/Scripts, etc. 
3.           Contribute to in fit-gap analysis for new solution when delivering its systems functional capabilities. Lead Non-Functional Requirements Analysis and develop projects tech documents during fit-gap analysis with the vendor. 
4.           Prepares, contribute and/or supervises the preparation of various formal contractual documents such as Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation (RFI/P/Q), Statement of Work (SOW), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreements (SLA). 
5.           Oversee, lead and contribute to technical specification and configuration related to the Systems Integration of the new permitting solution with other systems (e.g. EWMS/Maximo, PTP, Open Data, Payment PM5/Moneris, etc.). 
6.           Provide technical services and lead technical aspect of project delivery to meet the objectives systems design related to system architecture, application design, systems interfaces, analysis, data work/ ETL, development/configuration, testing, training and implementation. 
7.           Prepare technical reports and assessments by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
8.           Identify and analyze current business processes and practices in the context of implementing information architecture, technology architecture and performance measures; prepares feasibility study and recommends overall technical solutions for business initiatives leveraging existing enterprise infrastructure investments.
9.           Inform and educate senior managers, business users and technology peers on the latest technology trends, and the effective use of business and technology solutions and information management in context of project implementation.
10.        Recommends and implements security, privacy and quality assurance requirements consistent with both the Municipal Freedom of Information Privacy and Protection Act (MFIPPA), and corporate and legislated standards regarding the storage, processing and retention of confidential data.
11.        Assess, recommend and/or contribute to implementation scalable multijurisdictional business and technical solutions that meet client and business requirements in the context of corporate standards, policies and procedures for information technologies and architectures. 
12.        Perform other project duties as required
 
Qualifications
It is important that the Services be undertaken by Sr. Systems Integrator who can demonstrate specific knowledge of technical, and hands-on experience in performing similar work for Information Technology projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
•            Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related discipline, and considerable experience working on large scale information technology projects or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
•            Should have at least one of the following certifications PMP, TOGAF, ITIL v3 or v4, COBIT 4 or 5.
•            10+ years extensive experience leading technical aspects of the projects, reviewing and analyzing business requirements, creating and contributing to functional design specifications and others systems designing artifacts. Solid understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)  and other methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
•            7+ years of experience with application design and development, network design, systems configurations, and design and implementation of infrastructure services
•            7+ years Systems Integration experience in all facets of design, development/configuration and testing for COST and/or SaaS (Public Cloud) solutions a definite asset 
•            Solid experience with Data Migration Projects /ETL. Advance Data Management skills in various tools, DBs and s/w ( e.g. MS SQL, Oracle, Phyton, Shell Scripting, etc.) 
•            Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent cross-functional collaboration. Ability to communicate complex technical matters 
to business non-technical audience. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
 
Technical Capabilities:
•            Demonstrated expertise in the field of Systems Integration Techniques (e.g. Point-To-Point, Middleware, ESB, API & Protocols, ETL/Data Integration, File-Based/Batches, iPaaS, etc.)
•            Demonstrated experience with cross-systems integrations to other enterprise systems including SAP, ESRI ArcGIS, EWMS/Maximo, other data sources, Access Control/SSO/RBAC/Security Layers.
•            Demonstrated working knowledge of relational and spatial database design, logical and physical system architecture, and object-oriented analysis and design
•            Demonstrated working knowledge of internets, intranet, and extranet systems design (security, content management, eCommerce, web, and application servers)
 
Deliverables:
•            Prepare test plans, test cases, scenarios and results documents;
•            Execute various types of technical tests (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, penetration, performance and user acceptance testing);
•            Analyze results and creating reports for Management as needed;
• Track problems, defects and issues within a large project; 
• Assure the quality of software delivered by the team.

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$95.00 and CA$110.00
