Technical Project Manager
6 Month Contract, Highly extendable
Hybrid: Toronto
What you’ll do
- Project management of multiple workstreams, including capabilities in data, AI, and cloud spaces, security resiliency
- Manage team(s) size of 6-15 members to help deliver technical capabilities/services, data acquisition to our cloud platforms, and services to expose data for enterprise consumption
- Facilitate/lead team(s) scrum ceremonies, and proactively supports the Product Owner(s) to ensure team is focused on sprint/iteration goals and OKRs to help ensure timelines are being met for stakeholders.
- Manage project financials, including monthly forecasting, accruals and invoicing. Also, CBA’s and capitalization conversations with finance and accounting.
- Lead/participate and collaborate in cross functional planning sessions to raise milestones, issues, dependencies, etc.
- Identifies dependencies with other teams and determines how to manage those dependencies without impacting the progress of the team (this includes raising any risks and working with the necessary teams to mitigate them, as well as removing team blockers)
- Prepare status reports, capture/track metrics and KPIs for management/stakeholder reporting
- Fosters close cooperation across all team members and encourages cross-training and support of each other (create a continuous learning environment to help team members to inspect and adapt)
- Strives for continuous improvement both for self and for the team. Recognizes opportunities for automation and other tools & processes so that the team can delivery more effectively.
- The Scrum Master may also manage budgets and 3rd party relationships, adhering to PMO standards for delivery as the company evolves traditional project delivery models towards Agile methods.
- The Scrum Master / Project Manager may be expected to work with the team to lead/facilitate troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to cloud environments. In addition, make recommendations on path forwards / decisions to management team depending on the issue.
What you bring
- Self-motivated, agile, and innovative team member, who can manage in an environment of change and ambiguity
- 5+ years working in Agile environment and familiarity with SDLC processes, as well as knowledge about various Agile methodologies and experience in coaching scrum and Kanban teams
- 2+ years of SM experience in delivering data products/projects in database technology/data warehousing/analytics
- Hands on experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
- Strong communication skills with ability tailor communications based on the audience and able to explain technical details/issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Skilled in building relationships and navigating through organizational layers
- Certifications or familiarity with Azure products, GCP, Snowflake, Data Bricks is an asset
- Previous experience managing projects leveraging cloud environments (Azure, GCP etc.) is preferred
- Previous experience in leading Data Warehousing, ETL, or Business Intelligence projects is preferred
- Broad knowledge across foundational technology domains including security, infrastructure, and networking is an asset
- Previous experience working in the retail industry is an asset
Education:
- Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSM) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) or equivalent formal education in Agile
- SaFe certifications
- Agile project management, lean, and six sigma education or experience is an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Certification in one or more of the following technology subject areas is an asset: Snowflake, Azure/Cloud, Database, Data, Business Intelligence, Data Science/ML/AI

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$100.00
