Technical Specialist- EIS-Workstation Services
6 Month Contract
Toronto ON 4-5 days a week on site
Overview
The Technical Specialist role is a second-level desktop support and administration role, according to ITIL standards. The focus of the role is to support corporate end users, including all senior leaders, with all of their client-facing technology-related challenges. A strong technical knowledge of computers, laptops, smartphones, Microsoft Windows, printers, scanners and other technology is required. The TS is responsible for monitoring the ticket queue and resolving incident tickets according to our Service Level Agreement with the business, prioritizing when appropriate. Fulfilling requests for software, computer hardware, printing and mobility equipment is also a major part of their day-to-day responsibilities. A keen ability to communicate clearly with our clients is imperative for success in this role. Teamwork is required constantly throughout the day, so being able to interact productively and positively with other IT support teams is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd level incident support and resolution
- Deploy hardware and software technology to meet business requests
- Participate in technology management processes, including technology refresh, asset inventory, configuration management
- Enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development and delivery of product training to peers, and the creation and maintenance of documentation
- Provide ad-hoc training as required to support client needs
- Participate in business and IT projects
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years in a related technology support role within a large corporate IT environment
- Strong abilities in computer hardware troubleshooting and installation
- High level of experience working with all recent versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office/Outlook
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow
- Working knowledge of VMWare, Citrix Desktop Services, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Azure
- PowerShell, Windows batch and other scripting experience is an asset
- Familiarity with iOS and Android smartphone platforms is an asset
- ITIL Foundation certification
- A+ certification
- College diploma or university degree in a computing or IT-related discipline (hardware, network, software) or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$25.00 and CA$35.00
