Summary of the Role
Supervise a crew of warehouse staff carrying out receiving, packaging, shipping, picking, storing, performing physical inventory, housekeeping, staging and distributing of materials, tools and equipment in a manner consistent with approved policies and procedures. Monitor work execution both through personal observation and management information to ensure safety, timeliness and productivity and take corrective action as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely material coordination services and logistics for customers including outage, projects, maintenance and trade groups.
  • Daily oversight of staff through the prioritization and assignment of emergent or scheduled work.
  • Manage and maintain identification, special storage, handling, shelf-life or pressure boundary requirements for all assets.
  • Utilize the computerized material management system to ensure all transactions are current and updated while addressing any discrepancies.
  • Oversee the safekeeping of all material and equipment under warehouse control by providing secure storage and yard facilities, restricted access and other controls as necessary.
  • Identify deficiencies in equipment, material storage, and facilities during routine activities, tours and inspections, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Identify specific stored or staged materials, tools and equipment potentially obsolete or surplus, and plan disposition arrangements.
  • As directed by Manager act as warehouse single point of contact (SPOC) for material issues.
  • Monitor human performance, safety related issues and timekeeping of employees.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:

  • Previous warehouse supervisor experience in an industrial facility.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management best practices.
  • Proficient in multiple computer software and applications including but not limited to MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate interaction with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to make descisions in a fast paced environment with a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Class G Ontario License and an accompanying Driver’s Abstract.
  • Preference will be given to applicant(s) with valid and current OPG Nuclear Security Clearance.
  • Preference will be given to applicant(s) with a valid and current forklift license.
