Story Behind the Need
Business group: GTEP – Global Platform Engineering (GPE)
The team designs and deploys management solutions for mobile devices and MAC computers, and the applications running on them, using Workspace One.
Project: Our client is migrating to EntraID as the next-generation Cloud-based iDP and the GPE team has a mandate to integrate (not migrate) Workspace One with Microsoft Entra/Intune to share device compliance status from Workspace One. Deployment of Microsoft Authenticator and Windows Hello for Business (WHfB) for two-factor authentication is also part of the project.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the strongest mobile device management teams in Canada, utilize and enhance their skills and knowledge in this rapidly changing field, the latest vendor products, all within a large multi-national financial institution.
Typical Day in Role:
- Design and build end-to-end solutions for managing mobile devices and MacBooks using Omnissa Workspace One
- Plan for upgrades in our hybrid (on-prem and cloud) Workspace One environment
- Evaluate business and security requirements to design solutions that meet those requirements
- Perform advanced trouble-shooting and create trouble tickets with vendors such as Apple and Omnissa, and manage them to resolution
- Participate in beta testing programs for mobile operating systems including Android, iOS, and MacOS
- Evaluate and test new hardware offerings from vendors such as Apple, Samsung, and Google
- Support internal development teams in terms of enrolling their test / development devices in UAT environments
- Work closely with vendors such as Apple and VMware in order to understand their future product capabilities and influence their product directions with client requirements
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- Overall experience 10+ years of IT experience working within a large complex organization.
- 3+ years of hands-on engineering-level experience with Workspace One UEM, including complete infrastructure designs and deployments in a highly regulated and secure environment
- 3+ years of experience with deploying and managing mobile devices at scale
- 3+ years of experience with Apple enterprise products such as DEP, VPP, and Apple Business Manager
- 3+ years of experience with integrating Google and Samsung device management tools with Workspace One
- Extensive knowledge of security principles and practises in a regulated industry such as Financial Services
- 1+ years of experience deploying Office 365 mobile apps and administering policies with Microsoft Intune
- Able to produce technical documentation, such as user guides, support guides, and build documents
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Banking/FI experience, or any regulated environment is an asset.
- Previous experience working as a part of a project team involved in large scale technology deployments.
- Spanish language is an asset.
Soft Skills Required:
- Good technical writing skills to produce technical documentation, security designs, and architectural overviews.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines
- Fluency in English required, Spanish a definite asset
Education:
- University degree or college diploma in computer science or similar area of study
- Certification as an Airwatch Administrator or Professional or equivalent / similar designation from a different MDM vendor.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
- Extensive and recent hands-on experience with all components of Workspace One, at an engineering level, NOT as Help Desk support or device administrator.
- Extensive experience deploying the on-premise components of Workspace One such as the Airwatch Cloud Connector and the Unversal Access Gateway, in a highly secure environment.
