Job Title: Azure Data Engineer
Location: Montreal, QC
Estimated Duration: 6 months
Main Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage Data Lakehouses using Delta Lake on Databricks, ensuring data performance, integrity, and security.
- Configure and maintain Databricks (clusters, jobs, Unity Catalog) and RBAC, schema provisioning, workload isolation.
- Manage and enforce proper access control policies using RBAC and ACLs.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines on Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Ensure efficient ingestion, processing, and transformation of data from multiple sources (SAP, EmpowerMX, Zendesk, etc.).
- Closely collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate and deploy analytical and machine learning models into production.
- Ensure data governance, compliance, and security according to established standards.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement of data processes and systems.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Practical experience of 4 to 6 years in data engineering, specifically on Azure and Databricks.
- Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake, SQL, Python, Spark.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles (Data Lakehouse).
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid and collaborative environment.
Desired Skills:
- Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Comfortable manipulating large data sets and handling raw SQL.
- Indepth knowledge of best practices in data governance and IT security.
- Experience in performance optimization and managing large volumes of data.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$90.00
