Job Title: Senior Disaster Recovery Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 8 months
Role profile description:
- Oversee the coordinated recovery testing work plans
- Ensure the existence and development of disaster recovery plans (DRPs)
- Exercising and testing of recovery plans (tabletops, failover, etc.) to ensure that recovery of applications meet the defined RTO/RPO objectives
- Ensuring the development, design, execution and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery practice area
- Support Line 2 in their review and challenge of 1st line risk processes
- Build and maintain a backlog of technology risk remediation work supported by a governance lifecycle and the implementation of management tools supported by technology
- Establish, support, and streamline resiliency and recovery technology risk reporting and metrics
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and industry leaders to design and develop IT Disaster Recovery and business continuity strategies integrating on-prem and Cloud platforms.
- Configure and implement IT Disaster recovery solutions, leveraging standard industry tools, data replication technologies and cloud-based recovery services.
- Plan and execute regular IT Disaster recovery testing and validation exercises, leveraging automation, monitoring, and alerting tools as needed.
Any specific tools/skillset:
- 5 years of hands-on experience in IT Disaster Recovery design, planning and implementation in mid-sized to large enterprises across Cloud and On-Prem environments
- 5 years of progressive experience within the areas of technology risk, compliance, business continuity, disaster recovery or governance
- Experience with IT Disaster Recovery program development including critical elements such as Business Impact Analysis, Recoverability Assessment, Business and Technology Strategy Development, Planning, Process Creation, Testing and Governance
- Previous worked on implementing multiple complex enterprise level changes programs, creating standards, promoting and measuring adoption
- Experience with application architectures, middleware, and technology platform architectures (cloud, on-premises, and hybrid)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written)
- Understanding of technology risk regulatory, and industry best practice (ServiceNow, COBIT, NIST, ISO standards, etc.)
- A “continuous improvement” mindset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with ServiceNow GRC, Fusion or other GRC platforms is an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$70.00
