AI Architect – AI and Emerging Technology

Job Description Summary: We are seeking an innovative Architect to lead our AI and Emerging Technology initiatives. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions to address complex business challenges and drive operational excellence. Your leadership will guide the organization in adopting advanced AI technologies, ensuring that our solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with our enterprise architecture strategy.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic AI Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of advanced AI architectures, including data collection, preprocessing, model development, deployment, and monitoring. Develop strategic roadmaps that align with business objectives and industry trends.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust AI solution designs. Provide technical guidance on AI-related tools, frameworks, and platforms.
- Advanced Platform Enhancement: Enhance our AAA (Advanced Analytics and AI) platform to support enterprise-wide adoption of state-of-the-art AI technologies including machine learning (ML), generative AI (GenAI), large language models (LLM), MLOps, and LLMOps.
- Technical Expertise: Design scalable and efficient AI systems leveraging cloud services such as Azure Machine Learning. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Innovation and Integration: Prototype and build advanced AI-driven solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing cloud-based and on-premises systems. Drive platform evolutions through proof-of-concepts aligned with business needs.
- Collaboration with Enterprise Architects: Align AI solutions with the overall enterprise architecture strategy. Work closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure architectural cohesiveness across all domains.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies. Lead research and assessment of new approaches for potential use within the organization.
- Leadership and Governance: Provide leadership in resolving inter-program and inter-project issues. Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing IT infrastructure. Contribute to the creation and improvement of enterprise architecture practices, processes, governance, and compliance.
- Strategic Planning: Establish direction and strategic initiatives for Global Enterprise Architecture aligned with business and IT strategies. Define governance standards and policies. Create, update, and maintain architecture models, roadmaps, and strategies.
- Risk Management: Lead risk and cost analysis, including build vs. buy strategies. Analyze the current IT environment to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Advocacy: Promote the Enterprise Architecture vision within the IT and business community. Facilitate the creation of architecture principles to support decision-making.
What You Bring:
- A master's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, PhD, or a related field.
- Certification in Azure is highly preferred. Certifications in additional cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS (Solutions Architect or Developer) is beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of AI technologies including machine learning algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong understanding of cloud services like Azure Machine Learning, GCP AI Platform.
- Strong proficiency with Copilot Studio, Power Platform, AI Foundry, Munk AI
- Experience with Databricks and MongoDB
- Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark or Hadoop for processing large datasets.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for developing AI models and prototypes.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, AKS.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for building CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders from different backgrounds.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$110.00
