Job Title: Technical Analyst – Network Installer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 12 Months
Technical Analyst – Network Implementation
Our client in the public sector has multiple locations and garages for which they need a consultant to support their Network Implementation Phase 1 and Phase 2. The consultant will be implementing a data network solution that would enable physical security related devices at several parking garages to communicate with the central security management center.
Duties
1. Work directly on the Network Implementation Phase 1 & Phase 2 project or backfill for Network Services group staff who would be working on the Network Implementation phase 1 & Phase 2 project
2. Complete or contribute towards documentation such as Business Requirements, Master Test Plan, and Test Completion Report
3. Create Bill of Materials and/or obtain quotes from vendors for WAN circuit installs, installation of cables, racks etc
4. Install/Rack switches, configure and turn-up switches
5. Test switches and end-to-end circuits and document the results as needed
6. Ensure network connectivity is as per expectation, troubleshooting any issues
till resolved
7. Will require going on-site to various parking garage sites within Toronto and working on-site
8. Will require working after-hours and/or weekends as needed for go-live
Qualifications
1. Post-secondary education in Network Engineering, Data Communication or Computer Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
2. Certification and designation related to Networking technology/Cisco Networking
3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
4. Knowledge of networks, network operating systems, network devices, network design principles, network analysis and telecommunication principles.
5. Good overall understanding of OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, and MPLS/VPLS.
6. Technical experience with Networking technology/Cisco networking
7. Good overall understanding of structured network cabling standards and design.
8. Excellent problem determination and resolution skills
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and projects under high service demands and time constraints
10. Effective written and verbal communication and customer service skills
11. Familiarity with technical documentation
12. Valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's licence.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
