Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Ottawa, ON (Remote)
Estimated Duration: 3 Months
We are looking for a Data Engineer with experience in Databricks, SQL, Python, and Azure to help design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Write efficient Python scripts for data processing and automation.
- Manage and transform raw data into structured formats for analytics.
- Work with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL DB).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability.
- Document data workflows and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency in SQL (querying, optimization, stored procedures).
- Strong Python programming skills (Pandas, PySpark preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark SQL).
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (ADLS, Azure Synapse, ADF).
- Basic understanding of data modeling and warehousing concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug data pipelines.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$33.00 and CA$65.00
