What We’re Looking For
Our client is seeking an experienced UAS Product Manager to lead the strategy and development of advanced BVLOS software products within the unmanned systems domain.
This role is ideal for a product professional with strong technical fluency and commercial mindset, who enjoys shaping innovative software products from concept through launch in a highly regulated, fast-evolving industry. You will be responsible for defining product vision, guiding execution, and ensuring solutions meet both customer and business objectives.
This is a hybrid role based in Ottawa, Ontario, with approximately 20% travel (domestic and international).
Key Responsibilities

Define and execute business-driven product strategies within the UAS and counter-UAS software domain, ensuring alignment with market demand and profitability targets.

Lead product development initiatives from ideation through delivery, translating market insights into clear product visions and near- and long-term roadmaps.

Conduct detailed market and competitive research to identify trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.

Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure product requirements balance technical feasibility with business outcomes.

Collaborate with sales and marketing stakeholders to support go-to-market planning, product positioning, and sales enablement.

Track product performance, customer feedback, and industry evolution to drive continuous improvement and identify new opportunities.

Represent the organization at relevant industry events and forums to gather intelligence and strengthen market presence.
Qualifications

Canadian security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.

5+ years of product management experience, ideally within software, technology, or unmanned systems environments.

Demonstrated business acumen, including experience with market segmentation, financial analysis, and profitability assessment.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and experience working closely with technical teams.

Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Nice to Have
-
Experience within the enterprise UAS market, including familiarity with FAA and Transport Canada requirements for complex BVLOS operations and CONOPS.

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, safety standards, and compliance considerations within the drone and unmanned systems industry.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$100,000 and CA$140,000
