Position: QE Automation Lead
Location: Toronto (hybrid – 3/4 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (extendable)
Overview
We are looking for a QE Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust automated testing solutions across web and mobile applications. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks, mobile automation, and API testing, with a focus on improving test coverage, reliability, and speed within an agile delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks
- Build and execute automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers
- Develop mobile automation using Appium
- Perform API automation using Rest Assured
- Implement and maintain BDD test scenarios using Cucumber
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other QE team members to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and support root-cause analysis
- Continuously improve automation coverage, stability, and execution efficiency
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks
- Proven experience with:
- Appium (mobile automation)
- Rest Assured (API automation)
- Java
- Solid understanding and practical use of Cucumber / BDD
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
Nice to Have / Familiarity
- Working knowledge of:
- Selenium
- Gradle
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated test execution pipelines

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$75.00 and CA$80.00
