Job Title: Senior QA Lead

Location: Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 10 Months

Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior QA Lead to join a high-visibility, multi-year modernization initiative running through at least 2027. This program is leveraging AI-assisted development and modern cloud technologies to deliver a new digital platform and evolve legacy backend systems.
This is not a traditional QA role. The successful candidate will help define how testing works in an AI-driven delivery model, partnering closely with product, engineering, and leadership to shape testing strategy from the ground up.

Responsibilities
• Define and manage the overall testing strategy across the program, including functional, end-to-end, UAT, performance, and security testing.
• Create and maintain test plans, oversee test environments, and lead test execution across Agile delivery teams.
• Establish documentation standards, testing governance, and processes to ensure audit readiness and traceability.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect management with product, development, and business stakeholders.
• Provide clear test metrics, dashboards, and status reporting to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with organizational quality, regulatory, and security standards.
• Lead the evolution of QA practices to support AI-assisted development and vertical slice delivery.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and leadership to embed quality early in the delivery lifecycle.
• Support stakeholder communication and participate in high-visibility program discussions.

Qualifications
Required Experience
• Proven experience as a QA Lead or Senior QA on large, complex enterprise projects.
• Demonstrated ability to define test strategies and lead QA activities across full project lifecycles.
• Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience providing stakeholder reporting and participating in executive or sponsor meetings.
• Ability to work in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and help shape new processes.
Technical Environment
Experience working with modern application architectures such as:
• Front-end technologies (React or similar frameworks)
• Cloud and serverless environments (AWS, Lambda, or similar)
• API and integration testing
• Enterprise backend systems (.NET or similar platforms)
Hands-on automation experience is an asset.

Nice-to-Have
• Experience on modernization or transformation programs
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or AI-enabled tools
• Insurance or regulated industry experience
• Experience with performance and security testing practices
