Canadian Tire Corporation is a data-driven organization. As an Associate Manager, Digital Analytics & Validation, you will lead product analytics for our web and app experiences—turning data into actionable recommendations that improve customer outcomes and business performance. You’ll partner with Product Owners to define success-metric frameworks, drive high-quality event instrumentation and data governance, and scale self-serve reporting. You’ll also mentor analysts and enable stakeholders across the business.

What you’ll do

Lead Digital Product Analytics

  • Own end-to-end analysis for key digital products; translate product goals into measurable outcomes and prioritized recommendations.
  • Build KPI frameworks (conversion, funnel health, task success, retention, engagement) and maintain metric dictionaries and documentation.
  • Deliver clear narratives (insight ? recommendation ? action ? result) for non-technical stakeholders; drive follow-through.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Oversee validation pipelines: instrument, organize, clean, and validate raw event data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Establish and enforce governance standards (taxonomies, naming conventions, event lifecycles, data quality SLAs) across platforms.
  • Implement monitoring, anomaly detection, and release validation for analytics tags/events.

Program Analytics (Automotive, Flyer, Search)

  • Automotive: Analyze product discovery and compatibility (e.g., vehicle selector/fitment), category navigation, PDP engagement, and conversion; identify friction and recommend improvements.
  • Flyer: Measure reach, engagement, click-through, add-to-cart, and redemption; assess promotional effectiveness and sequencing; provide tactics to improve outcomes.
  • Search: Evaluate query performance (CTR, zero-results, abandonment), relevance and ranking signals, autocomplete, and navigation from SERP; recommend improvements to boost findability.

Cross-Platform Data Integration

  • Coordinate multi-source integration (web/app analytics, commerce, pricing, search telemetry) to build unified views, datasets, and dashboards.
  • Partner with data engineering to define requirements, QA data pipelines, and maintain documentation for scalable, reliable data flows.

Ad-Hoc & Strategic Insights

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests with timely, accurate analysis (root-cause, trend, cohort, pre/post release performance).
  • Identify opportunities and industry trends that inform roadmap and investments to improve customer experience and product KPIs.

Stakeholder Engagement & Project Contribution

  • Facilitate readouts and workshops; act as the analytics point of contact for Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
  • Apply structured project management to keep scope, dependencies, and timelines aligned with analytics deliverables.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching; support onboarding and skill development.
  • Champion best practices in documentation, reproducible analytics, and self-serve reporting.

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify and resolve instrumentation, data, or pipeline issues; drive root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Advance automation, observability, and self-serve capabilities to reduce time-to-insight and increase stakeholder autonomy.

What you bring

Technical (Must-have)

  • Strong SQL proficiency (joins, window functions, performance tuning).
  • Experience with GA4 or Adobe Analytics, including event instrumentation and validation.
  • Data visualization proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker/Data Studio (build, maintain, and socialize dashboards).
  • Demonstrated ability to define metrics, build KPI frameworks, and assure data quality end-to-end.

Technical (Preferred)

  • Python or PySpark for data wrangling/validation; familiarity with BigQuery or Snowflake.
  • Tag Management experience (e.g., GTM or Tealium) for event design and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (CSS, JavaScript) for tag design and debugging.
  • Predictive & modeling skills (e.g., forecasting, regression/classification, feature understanding) to augment analytics when appropriate.
  • Version control (Git) and reproducible analysis practices.

Experience & Education

  • Post-secondary education in STEM fields (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related) or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years in digital product analytics or adjacent roles, with direct collaboration with Product Owners.
  • Experience partnering with data engineering or contributing to cross-platform data solutions.

Business & Leadership

  • Strong grasp of digital products, data quality management, customer experience, and retail pricing strategies.
  • Proven ability to present complex analysis to non-technical audiences and lead stakeholder discussions.
  • Experience mentoring/tutoring team members; proactive, organized, and outcomes-oriented.
