Canadian Tire Corporation is a data-driven organization. As an Associate Manager, Digital Analytics & Validation, you will lead product analytics for our web and app experiences—turning data into actionable recommendations that improve customer outcomes and business performance. You’ll partner with Product Owners to define success-metric frameworks, drive high-quality event instrumentation and data governance, and scale self-serve reporting. You’ll also mentor analysts and enable stakeholders across the business.
As a Digital Analytics & Validation Analyst, you will support product analytics for our web and app experiences. You will help turn data into actionable recommendations by building dashboards, validating event instrumentation, maintaining metric documentation, and delivering routine and ad-hoc analyses. In addition, you will contribute to data infrastructure building—helping define requirements, assemble reliable datasets, and automate data quality checks—in collaboration with the Manager and product stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Product Analytics Support
- Query core datasets and build dashboards and scorecards for product KPIs (conversion, funnel health, engagement, retention).
- Monitor weekly/monthly performance; prepare concise readouts with trends, anomalies, and recommended follow-ups.
- Maintain metric dictionaries and documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
Data Quality & Governance
- Execute QA checklists for analytics releases; validate events and parameters pre/post deployments.
- Support governance standards (taxonomies, naming conventions, event lifecycles) and keep documentation current.
- Set up monitoring and basic anomaly detection; log issues and track remediation through tickets.
Data Infrastructure & Pipeline Building
- Assist in building reliable data models and marts for digital analytics (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
- Contribute to ETL/ELT tasks (SQL transforms; Python/PySpark where appropriate) and document data lineage.
- Implement automated validation checks (e.g., row counts, freshness, null/duplicate detection) and monitoring.
- Work with version control (Git) and follow data development best practices (branching, code review).
- Partner with data engineering to define pipeline requirements, QA data flows, and schedule jobs (e.g., DAGs).
Cross-Platform Data Integration
- Join data across web/app analytics, commerce and pricing to create unified datasets and dashboards.
- Maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, and output tables to ensure reliable data flows.
Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting
- Respond to ad-hoc requests with accurate, timely analysis (trend, cohort, pre/post release performance).
- Package insights into clear visuals and narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder Support & Documentation
- Participate in standups and working sessions; capture requirements and follow-ups.
- Maintain Confluence/knowledge base pages, query repositories, and dashboard catalogs.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to automation and standardization (query templates, data checks, reusable dashboard components).
- Propose iterative enhancements that reduce time-to-insight and improve data reliability.
What you bring
Technical (Must-have)
- Strong SQL skills (joins, window functions).
- Data visualization proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker/Data Studio
- Understanding of basic data modeling concepts (facts/dimensions, star/snowflake) and ETL fundamentals.
- Ability to document metrics, taxonomies, and data lineage; attention to detail in QA.
Technical (Preferred)
- Python or PySpark for data wrangling/validation; familiarity with BigQuery or Snowflake.
- Basic familiarity with web technologies (CSS, JavaScript) for tag/debug tasks.
- Predictive & modeling basics (forecasting, regression/classification) to augment analytics when appropriate.
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar tools for transformations and orchestration (nice to have).
- Version control (Git) and reproducible analysis practices.
- Experience with GA4 or Adobe Analytics; ability to validate event instrumentation and understand common product analytics schemas.
Experience & Education
- Post-secondary education in STEM fields (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related) or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of experience (internships/co-ops/projects in digital analytics welcome).
- Exposure to building or supporting data pipelines/infrastructure and collaboration with engineering is a plus.

- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present simple insights to non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a proactive approach to learning and problem solving.
Growth Path
- Master event instrumentation validation and dashboarding for one core area within the first 3–6 months.
- Progress toward intermediate analysis and data pipeline responsibilities under the guidance of the Manager.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64,000 and CA$70,000
