Job Title: Project Manager – Building Decommissioning

Location: Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, or Stettler (Hybrid)

Estimated Duration: 3 Months

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of the building decommissioning initiative from planning through execution and formal close-out.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables aligned to the June 1 possession timeline.
  • Own project scope, budget, risk management, vendor coordination, and executive reporting.
  • Establish governance structure, cadence of reporting, and clear decision-making pathways.
  • Provide regular, concise status updates and risk escalations to senior leadership.

Qualifications: 

  • Significant experience leading facility decommissioning, office relocations, or large-scale site transitions with full end-to-end accountability.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex projects involving multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Strong vendor and multi-stakeholder management experience, coordinating internal teams and external service providers operating concurrently.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and interdependencies across complex initiatives.
  • Experience working with commercial building systems including mechanical, electrical, security, and IT infrastructure sufficient to oversee decommissioning and shutdown activities.
  • Strong financial management experience including budget ownership, cost tracking, forecasting, approvals, and variance management.
  • Advanced risk management capability with demonstrated experience identifying, mitigating, and escalating operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Governance and executive reporting experience with the ability to provide clear, concise updates and decision-ready information.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments, building structure and momentum.
  • Self-starter with a strong delivery mindset and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with competing priorities and firm deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and work on-site in Stettler, Alberta, as required.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$95.00 and CA$100.00
