Job Title: Solution Architect

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale microservices and micro-application solutions within a large financial services environment. This role will play a key part in enhancing an existing platform while solutioning and architecting new features and capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on architecture experience, strong technical leadership, and a proven background delivering scalable cloud-native solutions in the banking or financial industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and technical design for enterprise microservices and micro-application initiatives
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with business and technology objectives
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams throughout the SDLC
- Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to define solution roadmaps and implementation strategies
- Support enhancement and modernization efforts for an existing enterprise platform
- Architect and implement new features leveraging cloud-native and containerized technologies
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and best practices
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural governance
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide strategic recommendations
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering and solution architecture experience
- Strong experience designing and implementing Microservices and Micro-Application architectures
- Hands-on expertise with:
- Java
- Azure Cloud Services
- OpenShift / Kubernetes
- Oracle Database
- Experience architecting distributed enterprise applications in highly regulated environments
- Strong understanding of API design, system integration, scalability, and cloud-native architecture
- Proven technical leadership experience leading large-scale initiatives and development teams
- Financial services or banking industry experience is required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise platforms
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks
- Azure certifications are considered an asset
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$95.00
