Responsibilities:

User Research & Insights:

  • Lead user research and discovery efforts – conduct interviews, surveys, field observations, and workshops with end-users (including both office staff and field technicians) to understand workflows, pain points, and user needs. Synthesize research findings into personas, journey maps, and user requirements to guide design decisions.

Experience Design & Prototyping:

  • Design and optimize end-to-end user experiences across SAP S/4HANA Fiori applications and mobile field tools, using SAP Fiori as the primary design system. Create user flows, information architecture, and wireframes that streamline navigation and reduce user effort. Develop high-fidelity designs and prototypes aligned to Fiori standards, ensuring consistent, intuitive experiences across web and mobile while minimizing the need for custom solutions.

Iterative Design & Usability Testing:

  • Plan and perform usability tests and user feedback sessions on prototypes and pre-release software. Analyze results to identify usability issues and improvement opportunities. Refine designs iteratively, ensuring accessibility, offline usability for field scenarios, and excellent usability for all user roles.

Design Documentation & Handoff:

  • Prepare comprehensive UX documentation including user flows, design specifications, UI behavior guidelines, and interactive prototypes for development. Work closely with developers to answer UI design questions, adjust designs for technical feasibility (e.g., considering SAP BTP extension capabilities), and validate that the final product matches the design intent.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate daily with product owners, business analysts, and solution architects to align design solutions with business process requirements and system constraints. Partner with IT developers and QA during the build and test phases to ensure design quality, resolve UI issues, and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Act as the advocate for end-users in meetings and reviews, articulating how design decisions support user adoption and business goals.

Continuous Improvement & Post-Go-Live Support:

  • Contribute to change management and training efforts by providing input on user onboarding materials and in-app help to facilitate user adoption. After go-live, monitor user feedback and usage analytics to identify further UX improvement opportunities, driving post-launch enhancements that continue to improve user satisfaction and productivity.

Qualifications:
Education & Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, HCI, Design, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus. 5+ years of professional UX design experience, with a focus on enterprise software or complex systems. Experience in large-scale digital transformation projects (ERP or similar) strongly preferred.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or other ERP systems and their user interfaces; experience with SAP Fiori / SAP UI5 design and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is highly advantageous. Knowledge of mobile UX design (iOS/Android) and designing for field service or offline-capable apps (e.g., mobile workforce tools) is a strong plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in modern UX tools for wireframing and prototyping (such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar). Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies, design thinking, and usability testing processes. Ability to create low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, design systems, and UI specifications. Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills – able to work closely with cross-functional teams and present design rationales to stakeholders. Strong analytical mindset to align design solutions with business requirements and user empathy to advocate for user needs. Self-driven and organized, capable of leading design efforts in an agile project environment from concept through delivery.
