Job Title: Senior Construction Manager – Rail Transit Systems

About the Opportunity
A leading rail systems integrator delivering a large-scale urban light rail program in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead field execution of systems installation through to commissioning handover.
Accountabilities
- Lead the construction team through planning, coordination, and execution of all project phases, holding schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Partner with engineering, contractors, and stakeholders to develop and implement construction plans and execution strategies.
- Monitor construction progress, identify risks and potential delays, and drive proactive mitigation.
- Manage labour, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity and control cost.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and safety standards across all construction activity.
- Oversee the deployment phase, ensuring efficient and timely implementation.
- Review overall planning of project activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders on progress, issues, and feedback.
- Follow work progress across all construction activities to uphold company and subcontractor quality standards, in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
- Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager on handover of installed systems and subsequent testing, commissioning, and start-up.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Minimum 10 years in construction management with a proven record delivering large-scale infrastructure projects in rail or transportation.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
- Experience on projects involving signalling, telecommunications, and power supply systems highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- PMP or CCM certification an asset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$150,000 and CA$160,000
