SAP Ariba Consultant
Our client recently went live with a major business transformation of its financial system, driven by the implementation of SAP S4/HANA to enable future-state financial processes. The solution is in Run Phase.
The SAP Ariba Consultant will integrate with the Client’s Ariba sustainment team and work with the Client’s S/4 HANA P2P, SuccessFactors team as well as the system integrator, focusing on the workflow required to implement the Council approved Delegation Of Commitment Authority (DOCA). The DOCA implementation is an item deferred from the Go-Live.
Key components of this DOCA are.
• Defined roles, limits, and responsibilities.
• Standardized sub-delegation; and
• Financial controls such as segregation of duties, multi-approver structures, and oversight from Financial Planning, Procurement Material Management Division, and Accounting Services Division.
The SAP Ariba Consultant will develop the workflow required to support DOCA. The consultant will also contribute to/update to process design, determining configuration requirements, support the update/development of testing requirements (including regression testing, artifacts (test cases, test scripts).
The consultant will also assist in development communication and any new or updated training material required.
The consultant will help the Client validate proposed functionality and alignment to design with the Systems Integrator and provide their experience in leading best practices related to workflow enabled procurement processes. This resource will have a strong understanding of workflow, business processes, accounting principles, systems configuration, enhancements, integration and data that enables related processes as well as a strong understanding of project management methodologies such as SAP Activate and/or PMBOK (PMP is an asset)
The assignment will be working under a hybrid mode, with remote option, as well as working from Metro Hall, 55 John Street in Toronto for 3 days per week. The successful candidate will be working seven (7) hours per day, five (5) days per week based on normal working Business Hours.
The expected start date for the assignment is expected to start Nov 2nd 2026 and will be for 6 months with the option to renew for up to an additional 6 months at the sole discretion of the Client.
The resource will have a strong understanding of business processes, accounting principles, systems configuration, enhancements and data or enables related processes as well as a strong understanding of project management methodologies such as SAP Activate and/or PMBOK (PMP is an asset)
Assignment Duties
• Develop workflow requirement to implement DOCA.
• Configure S/4 and ARIBA as required o Validate proposed functionality and alignment to DOCA policy
o Develop functional specifications for any development objects required
(including for SuccessFactors) o Reviewing/updating test script and test cases, identification of test data, test execution
o Conduct unit and integration testing
o Regression test existing procurement processes
o Update business process documentation and provide input to updated polices required to support newly implemented functionality
o Development of risk mitigation strategies, etc.
o Development of communication and any new or updated training material required.
• Develop reports required to conform to Council requirements
• Work in collaboration with the Business Process Lead and vendor lead informing the design, development and configuration of the SAP solution and its integration with S/4, ARIBA, ECC and SuccessFactors
• Support the P2P/ARIBA/SuccessFactors team providing SAP knowledge/expertise/leadership.
• Identify linkages to other key processes to support reporting.
Provide leadership of business processes, procurement principles, systems
configuration, enhancements and data to enable related processes
Qualifications
1. A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience in large project/program management with Government jurisdictions and or large private sector organizations.
2. Experience in delivering at least 2 end-to-end implementations. Implementation in a public sector environment with S/4HANA would be an asset.
3. SAP Certification in Sourcing and Procurement
4. Proven expertise in hands on configuration of S/4 ARIBA and HANA
5. Proven record in implementing complex workflow with inconsistent approval levels and require frequent updating
6. Proven experience in using HR Mini Master to support workflow/approvals 7. Knowledge of integration of SAP ARIBA, S/4HANA, SuccessFactors
8. Strong knowledge of test methodologies.
9. Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager Change Request will also be an asset.
10. Ability to work in transformative programs.
11. Tenacious and willing to support the team during peak volumes and workloads with various activities.
12. Strong in process management and controls to minimize risks exposure.
13. Ability to lead efficient communication between all project stakeholders, including internal teams and clients.
14. Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
15. Excellent written & verbal communication skills (comfortable & confident communicating at all levels, including business partners, leadership and vendors).
16. Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic planning skills.

1. S/4 Flexible Workflow design for Procurement which supports the council approved Delegation of Commitment Authority
2. Functional specs for development objects.
3. Test plans, test cases, use cases, user stories, scenarios and results documents.
4. Documentation of various types of tests (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, penetration, performance and user acceptance testing).
5. Process and configuration documentation.
6. Options documents to support decision making by project leadership.
7. Key decision documents.
8. Other analyses and reports for Management as needed.
9. Input for training and sustainment model 10. Documentation of issues and risks.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$85.00 and CA$100.00
