Avionics AME-E Technician
Location: Niagara region, ON

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Avionics AME-E Technician to lead the installation, integration, and testing of advanced navigation, communication, and electrical systems. The successful candidate will ensure all work adheres to rigorous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Transport Canada regulatory standards.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Avionics Installation & Integration (50%)

Lead assigned avionics projects and installations, coordinating with mechanical and sheet metal teams to meet production milestones.

Generate detailed wire lists from technical drawings for harness manufacturing.

Utilize laser wire marking equipment to produce coded wiring and build harnesses conforming to specific aircraft configurations.

Install custom and externally supplied wire harnesses and equipment boxes in accordance with approved manuals.

Partner with the engineering department to provide feedback on drawing revisions and technical accuracy.

Perform software configuration and programming for aircraft systems and radios, ensuring all firmware and revisions are current.

Conduct comprehensive ground and flight testing; perform pitot-static and transponder certifications and sign off logbook entries.

Troubleshoot complex system discrepancies identified during the integration phase.
2. Production & Quality Management (40%)

Maintain accurate daily labor tracking within the company’s ERP system.

Execute formal sign-offs for all completed tasks and document any defects or deficiencies found during the assembly process.

Verify work packages are complete (documentation, parts, and instructions) prior to starting production.

Uphold a high standard of hangar cleanliness, adhering to 5S principles and strict Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention policies.

Conduct daily tool accountability checks in compliance with safety and quality procedures.
3. Professional Development (10%)

Maintain technical currency through self-study and stay informed on industry service bulletins and safety alerts.

Participate in recurrent aircraft type training as required by the organization.
Position Requirements
Education & Licensing:
-
Completion of a Transport Canada-approved Aircraft Avionics Maintenance program.

Valid TCCA AME-E License.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.

Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in avionics installations.

Prior experience with Garmin avionics suites is highly desirable.

Experience working on Rotary-Wing or Light Turbine aircraft is considered a strong asset.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$30.00 and CA$45.00
