Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: Toronto, London, or Winnipeg (Hybrid)
    
Estimated Duration: 9 Months

Any specific tools/skillset:

  • Degree in related discipline (Commerce/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Good understanding of business principles and experience with a broad range of different types of business functions
  • Understanding of general IT project methodologies, processes and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills that rely on a structured approach to problem solving
  • Effective internal consulting skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience
  • Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure

Role profile description:

The Business Systems Analyst maintains a “business perspective” through all phases of the problem resolution and systems enhancement.  Business Systems Analysts work closely understand business needs, opportunities, and requirements. Working in a team environment, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for:

  • Representing the business’ requirements
  • Defining and designing the business functionality of the system
  • Ensuring that the system meets the defined business requirements
  • Defining business problems/opportunities, providing a clear definition and performing benefit analysis
  • Performing business and systems analysis and design, articulating the logical design alternatives and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Performing functional analysis and design, defining and documenting detailed business requirements
  • Performing functional testing of system changes and supporting user acceptance testing of those changes
  • Contributing to training strategies and business implementation planning
  • Create processes from audit findings and document them
  • Gather requirements from business to create business requirements documentation
  • We would like a BSA who is OK with creating/writing process documentation. Don't want someone who is going to gather other people’s notes and edit/format them
  • Want to be able to give them output from an audit and have them drive out the process and document it

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$70.00
