Job Title : Capital Markets Business Analyst 
Duration: 9 months extendable 
location: 1x per week onsite Toronto
Story Behind the Need
• Business group: The Retail Risk Analytics Engineering (RRAE) team supports various stakeholders Global Risk Management (GRM) – Retail Models and Analytics Team, Regulatory Capital, IFRS9 provisioning & Enterprise stress Testing team in the implementation of regulatory and non-regulatory initiatives, utilizing both Agile and Waterfall approaches.
• The team is responsible for maintaining Credit and Retail Model platform. We provide platform on GCP and coding frameworks to Data Scientists and Model Developers.

Typical Day in Role

Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
•       Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers.
•       Prepares cost-benefit analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
•       Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
•       Supports one or more highly complex business processes
•       Works on multiple projects as a project team member
•       Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1.      8+ years experience programming languages in Python to comprehend reading code, write scripts and basic functions
2.      4-5+ years’ recent hands-on experience writing, reading and constructing advanced Python scripts independently.
3.      Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
4.      Experience with Project related tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA), processes, and the SDLC lifecycle
5.      Solid communication (verbal/written) skills to convey technical documents consisting of requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
6.      Project management skills to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Retail product experience and IFRS9, associated risk models is an asset (PD, EAD, LGD)
•       Ability to create business solutions that increase competitive advantage
•       Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
•       Google Cloud knowledge & experience is preferred.
•       Willingness & ability to learn new technology.

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional analysis skills and ability to follow data flows/processes.is required to triage complex issues from root cause to resolution in a timely manner.
• Solid communication (verbal/written) skills is a must to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Resourceful, and proactive attitude with aptitude towards self-learning are essential attributes to independently navigate the complexities of the application.
• Highly accountable and able to self-manage work priorities with minimal oversight, while meeting required deliverables within agreed timelines.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member in cross-functional project teams.
• Passion for driving teams towards high performance and a deep pride in providing high quality results.

Best vs Average: Mix of technical knowledge & good soft skills such as communication. Willingness to learn.
Ideal candidates would be accountable, work independently, and be willing to learning new tools on the job.

Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.

Candidate Review & Selection
• Structure and Format: MS Teams Interviews (video) o First round: behavioral and technical interview with HM and team BA. Ability to communicate and translate technical requirements to the business will be assessed in interview (ability to write business requirements), 45-60 mins o Second round: behavioral panel interview, 30 mins

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$80.00
