Job Title: Commissioning Manager
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 24 Months
Overview:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Manager to lead all phases of commissioning activities for complex natural gas pipeline and facility projects. This role is crucial to ensuring that systems are turned over safely, on time, and in full compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. You will develop and manage commissioning strategies, direct onsite execution, and coordinate cross-functionally with construction, engineering, operations, and contractor teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all commissioning phases—from FAT and pre-commissioning to dry and wet commissioning.

Develop commissioning strategies, schedules, and cost estimates aligned with construction timelines.

Oversee contract commissioning resources, ensuring compliance and productivity.

Manage risk and change, track progress, and ensure all commissioning deliverables are documented.

Facilitate system turnover and Green Tag processes to confirm readiness.

Conduct PSSR reviews and participate in quality/safety audits and lessons learned sessions.

Participate in design reviews to embed commissioning needs into engineering deliverables.

Ensure asset integration and support operations training for smooth handoff.

Coordinate procurement of spare parts and validation of as-built documentation.

Use completions management software to manage punch lists, progress tracking, and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
10+ years of commissioning experience in natural gas pipeline and facility projects
-
Hands-on experience managing commissioning on large-scale greenfield and brownfield assets

Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Office Suite

Experience with completions systems like Smart Completions or Omega 365
-
Strong leadership, planning, and risk management skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or related field)

Field-level project management or construction experience
-
Proven process improvement mindset and ability to implement best practices
Other Requirements:

Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Valid driver’s license required

Occasional travel to field sites as needed
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $55.00 and $60.00
