The Construction Officer will oversee construction opportunities and alleviate the workload of our current CO, enabling greater focus on planned work during trouble response. Additionally, this role will assist the OMA team with switch inspections aligned to switch replacements, which is currently out of scope.
Class 5 diver's license in good standing.
Must have their own vehicle that is suitable for travel on our ROW – Mileage paid as per CLRA expense policy

Our client is a leading energy utility that generates, purchases, distributes and sells electricity. They are currently looking for a Construction Officer for various projects across BC.

Overview:

The Construction Officer will oversee construction opportunities and alleviate the workload of our current CO, enabling greater focus on planned work during trouble response.

Role Accountabilities

 

  • Oversee and coordinate construction activities to ensure compliance with standards and timelines.
  • Support planned work during trouble response to reduce delays and improve reliability.
  • Assist OMA team with switch inspections and align tasks with switch replacement schedules.
  • Ensure safety compliance and effective stakeholder communication throughout projects.

Education and Skills

  • A minimum nine (9) years of construction experience or equivalent.
  • Diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology from an Institute of Technology or relevant trades, apprenticeship courses, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of construction oversight and project coordination.
  • Experience in utility operations and outage management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Class 5 diver's license in good standing.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$64.00 and CA$79.00
