Story Behind the Need
Business group: CBE Personalization – The Client Primacy & Personalization team is responsible for ideation, design, engineering, and implementation of software for the Personalization domain.
Project: Client Primacy and Personalization – Large-scale enterprise-wide project to accelerate personalization capabilities across our stack (targeted propensity-driven lists, marketing journey and sales conversion funnels).
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), and schema development in RTCDP. This role will focus on building, integrating, and optimizing data pipelines and schemas that power customer data activation and personalization across web, mobile, and API-driven integrations
You will partner with architects, developers, and marketing technology teams to ensure high-quality data ingestion, transformation, and activation in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)—enabling real-time, personalized customer experiences.

Typical Day in Role:
RTCDP Schema Development:
- Design and implement XDM-based schemas in Adobe RTCDP to support audience segmentation, personalization, and activation.
- Extend standard schemas to accommodate custom business requirements while ensuring compatibility with downstream activation channels.
Data Integration & Ingestion:
- Build and maintain ingestion pipelines for mobile SDK, Web SDK, and batch/streaming data sources.
- Configure and manage integrations using AEP APIs for automated data ingestion, export, and audience activation.
Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Enablement:
- Enable data readiness for AJO journeys and campaigns, ensuring proper schema and dataset alignment.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to operationalize customer journeys powered by real-time event data.
API-Driven Development:
- Develop and maintain REST API integrations between AEP and external systems for data synchronization, activation, and reporting.
Quality & Governance:
- Implement data validation, mapping, and transformation rules to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Partner with data governance teams to maintain data privacy, consent, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer or similar role in a MarTech or data engineering context
- Recent hands-on experience with these Adobe products: Adobe RTCDP schema design, dataset management, and ingestion workflows; Adobe Journey Optimizer and its integration with RTCDP datasets; configuring and deploying Adobe Web SDK and Adobe Mobile SDK
- 8+ years’ hands-on experience with AEP APIs for data ingestion, activation, and schema management
- Strong skills in SQL and one or more programming languages (Python, Java, or Node.js preferred)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for data processing and integration
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience with customer identity stitching and profile unification in RTCDP
- Knowledge of event-based data models and real-time streaming pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, personalization strategies, and customer journey orchestration
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to translate marketing and business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, data, and engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field (computer engineering computer science)
- Adobe certifications are an asset

Candidate who has all the must have skills is best; good communication skills is needed as is a senior role to be able to articulate issues and work with other senior members
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$71.00 and CA$81.00
