Job Title: Data Governance Analyst
Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Job Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support a large-scale SAP implementation project. This role will be responsible for capturing requirements and establishing data governance standards to ensure high-quality, consistent, and compliant data. The analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams to define data ownership, improve data quality, and support project readiness and long-term sustainability.

- Develop and track data quality KPIs and metrics
Responsibilities:
- Define and document data governance policies, and standards for SAP data objects (e.g., customer, vendor, material, finance).
- Establish and support data ownership and data stewardship models across business domains
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to define data definitions, business rules, and data standards.
- Support data migration activities, including data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation for master data governance tool implementation
- Develop and track data quality KPIs and metrics.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to data management.
- Facilitate data governance workshops with stakeholders to align on definitions, rules and ownership.
- Review SOX Compliance documents and work closely with control / audit teams to gather SOX requirements.
- Maintain data structures, metadata, and documentation in approved data catalogues.
- Support the implementation of data governance tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with functional teams (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure alignment on data requirements.
- Assist with project closure activities, ensuring data-related deliverables are complete and signed off.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles.
- Experience supporting or working on SAP implementations (e.g., S/4HANA preferred).
- Strong understanding of master data domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance).
- Experience with data migration, data cleansing, validation processes, and data management methods.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of SAP tables and data structures.
- Strong understanding of databases and data structures, independent of specific platforms or technologies.
- Experience with SAP transactions (e.g., SE16N) and data extraction tools.
- Familiarity with data profiling and data quality tools.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Experience with data governance or metadata tools (e.g., Prospecta MDO, SAP MDG, Purview, DataSphere, or Information Steward) is an asset.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data rules and standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and drive alignment across teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in large-scale ERP transformation projects.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., energy, finance, utilities).
- Understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements. Knowledge of regulatory or compliance-driven data environments.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$65.00 and CA$80.00
