Design Coordinator – Renewable Energy (Solar & Battery Storage)
Location: Edmonton or Calgary
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Design Coordinator with 5-10 years of experience in renewable energy or construction projects, specifically in solar and/or battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of design, RFPs, project kick-off, and commissioning for renewable energy construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support clean energy initiatives in Alberta and work on groundbreaking renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate design activities for renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar and battery energy storage systems.
- Manage project kick-off, ensuring alignment of design, procurement, and construction teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to prepare, review, and submit RFPs for new projects.
- Oversee the flow of design documentation and ensure all project requirements are met.
- Assist in the coordination of project commissioning, ensuring all systems are fully operational and meet performance expectations.
- Ensure smooth communication and workflow between design, engineering, and construction teams.
- Track project milestones and timelines, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Provide support in resolving any design or coordination issues during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in renewable energy or construction projects, with a focus on solar and/or battery energy storage.
- Proven experience in project coordination, including design management, RFP preparation, and project kick-off.
- Experience with commissioning processes in renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy construction, including timelines, materials, and systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Located in Edmonton or Calgary with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Commitment to advancing renewable energy and sustainability goals.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities effectively.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$110.00 and CA$90,000
