Job Title: DevOps Specialist (Senior)

Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)
    
Estimated Duration: Fulltime

What you’ll do: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform across multiple AWS environments 
  • Lead and optimize our Amazon EKS clusters, including implementation of security controls, scaling, and monitoring 
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and operational processes to achieve NoOps principles 
  • Mentor peers with knowledge sharing, code reviews, and paired programming sessions 
  • Develop and lead technical training sessions on cloud-native technologies and best practices 
  • Create learning paths and documentation to help team members grow their infrastructure automation skills 
  • Collaborate with security and development teams to implement and maintain compliance controls for regulated workloads 
  • Build self-service platforms and tools that enable development teams to deploy and manage their applications independently 
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure and processes 
  • Participate in 24/7 on call rotation 

What you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering roles
  • Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code practices 
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, particularly EKS, EC2, IAM, S3, and networking components 
  • Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters in regulated environments 
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go) 
  • Strong understanding of TLS/SSL 
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices 
  • Experience with cloud-native database operations 
  • Demonstrated experience with DNS and DNSSEC in production environments 
  • Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools (GitHub actions, Gitlab CI/CD) 
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana) 
  • Experience with infrastructure automation frameworks 
  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) is an asset 
  • Understanding of ICANN's technical compliance requirements is an asset 
  • Experience with TLD operations or domain registration systems is an asset 
  • Knowledge of EPP protocol and interacting with RDDS is an asset 

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$117,000 and CA$127,000
