Our client a Multi Disciplined Engineering consulting firm in Calgary, AB is looking for Geomatics Engineer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be in good standing with APEGA or ALSA, and have experience in advanced geomatics practices, particularly with control surveys, terrestrial 3D laser scanning, and RPAS-based photogrammetry and LiDAR data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, review and provide input for high-precision control surveys in alignment with project requirements.
- Plan, review and provide input for 3D terrestrial laser scanning for detailed as-built models and spatial data capture.
- PPlan, review and provide input for RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) data collection, including both photogrammetry and LiDAR workflows.
- Oversee project workflows and procedures, ensuring best practices and technical standards are followed.
- Review final deliverables and approve any required reporting before submission to clients.
- Process and validate spatial datasets to ensure accuracy, quality, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver fit-for-purpose geomatics solutions.
- Maintain compliance with applicable standards and professional practice guidelines.
- Registered or eligible for registration, in good standing with APEGA or ALSA.
- 7+ years of experience
- Proven experience with:
- Leica Processing software and Hardware
- Control survey methodologies and geodetic principles.
- Terrestrial 3D laser scanning (hardware and software workflows).
- RPAS data collection (photogrammetry and LiDAR).
- Field work experience is required, including the ability to operate in outdoor environments and remote locations as needed.
- Proficiency in industry-standard processing and analysis software.
- Strong problem-solving and data validation skills.
- Ability to oversee workflows, review final products, and ensure quality assurance.
- Capable of performing field work independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$70.00 and CA$80.00
