Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Information Systems Engineering team responsible for supporting enterprise network infrastructure across manufacturing, corporate, and data center environments.
This role is ideal for a hands-on network professional who thrives in highly available, business-critical environments and enjoys a mix of operational support, troubleshooting, project delivery, and infrastructure enhancement work. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining network stability, improving performance, supporting modernization initiatives, and ensuring secure, reliable connectivity across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Support Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking across campus, manufacturing, and data center environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking incidents using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Configure and support Cisco switching, routing, wireless, and security technologies.
  • Administer and maintain firewall infrastructure and network security policies.
  • Monitor network health and respond to alerts, outages, and performance issues.
  • Support network upgrades, hardware refreshes, infrastructure deployments, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Implement network segmentation and security best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, operational procedures, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in change management processes, including planning, risk assessments, validation, and rollback procedures.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, operations, business, and vendor teams.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support when required.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.

  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Network Segmentation
  • IPSec VPN Configuration and Support
  • Access Control and Security Best Practices

Wireless & Network Services

  • Cisco Wireless Technologies
  • Cisco ISE
  • DNS and DHCP
  • Enterprise Internet Connectivity

Monitoring & Operations

  • Cisco Catalyst Center
  • SolarWinds or Enterprise Monitoring Platforms
  • Network Monitoring and Operational Response
  • Performance Management and Troubleshooting

Infrastructure

  • Fiber Infrastructure

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale network environments.
  • Strong hands-on networking experience with Cisco technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within structured change management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in operational environments.
  • Experience working with vendors and cross-functional technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
  • Experience in highly available 24×7 operations.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus platforms.
  • Experience with network automation, scripting, or AI-assisted operational tools.
  • Exposure to enterprise security and network access control platforms.

Work Environment

  • Primary work location is Cambridge, Ontario.
  • Weekly support rotation at a secondary site in Woodstock, Ontario (approximately one day per week).
  • Primarily onsite role with limited pre-scheduled remote work opportunities.
  • Company-provided laptop and mobile device.
  • Participation in after-hours and weekend support rotations is required.
  • Overtime may be required to support project work, maintenance windows, and operational incidents.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
