Job Title: Platform Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
We are hiring a Platform Engineer to help design and build a modern cloud self-serve platform alongside a Senior Principal Engineer. This role is primarily focused on AWS. You will contribute to automation, tooling, deployment pipelines, infrastructure modules, and core platform components.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and enhance AWS platform components including IaC modules, templates, guardrails, automation, and deployment workflows.
- Work with Senior Principal Engineer to develop a self-serve cloud platform that accelerates product team delivery.
- Implement deployment/release pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or other CI/CD tooling.
- Create high-quality, reusable modules using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or other IaC/PAC tooling.
- Contribute to containerization workflows using Docker and support Kubernetes/EKS workloads.
- Collaborate with application teams to support onboarding, troubleshooting, and automated workload provisioning.
- Continuously improve platform resiliency, cost efficiency, and compliance guardrails.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
- Strong experience with AWS Cloud (core services, IAM, networking/VPC, compute, governance).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language:
- TypeScript or Node.js preferred
- Python strongly acceptable
- Experience with containers (Docker); Kubernetes/EKS familiarity preferred.
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or similar).
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator certification.
- Experience developing cloud modules, automation frameworks, or developer self-service tooling.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
