Quality Assurance Tester
Our client in the public sector is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst / Tester for their EWMS project.
Project Background
Enterprise Work Management Program (EWMS) is a coordinated set of initiatives to transform work management within the organization by providing an integrated solution including tools, processes, workflow flow and best practices on a common technology platform.
To support this vision, a commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) called IBM Maximo was chosen to be the IT Solution, which will be implemented by the vendors. IBM Maximo will be integrated with other systems such as SAP, 311/SF/GIS, LDAP, etc, in the implementation of the EWMS Program.
Program rollout is planned within 3 phases. Prior to Phase 2, Phase 1 packages for SW/TS/PF&R were completed. Phase1&3 TW packages are underway. This newly hired QA Lead will mainly work on TW Phase 1 and 3.
Objectives
The primary objectives of the QA Lead engagement are to:
• Establish and implement a robust automated testing strategy and framework for the EWMS project.
• Identify, track, and manage defects to ensure a high-quality product release.
• Collaborate with development, product, and business teams to align on quality objectives and release readiness.
• Continuously improve QA automation processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Assignment Duties
The Software & Infrastructure Tester is responsible for:
Performing the application Testing and Quality Assurance activities including System Integration Test, Regression Test and Stress/Load Test.
Participating in planning and estimating the activities required to test the new solutions, enhanced applications and migrated tools
Participating in the development of Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Scripts. Providing advice to business users for the development of Test Cases for User Acceptance Test.
Executing the tests as required, performing issue tracking and resolution.
Qualifications
It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Software & Infrastructure Tester who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. University in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent is a definite asset. Clear understanding of Business Requirements, Statement of Work, and Test Strategies as they apply to projects. Solid understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and other methodologies
2. 1 + years of hands-on experience in IBM Maximo testing across various implementations and upgrades.
3. 3 + years QA experience with a strong background in test planning, execution, and validation within the Maximo Application Suite (MAS), with emphasis on functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
4. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including development, sustainment, program, and vendor stakeholders in Maximo environments.
5. Familiar with GitLab-based version control and CI/CD practices in enterprise asset management systems.
6. Extensive QA and test experience in all facets of testing (functional, integration, system, automated regression, performance, and user acceptance testing) a definite asset
7. Solid experience in executing Systems Integration tests, analyzing the results and creating reports for Management as needed. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Capabilities:
1. Demonstrated expertise in the field of quality assurance, test planning, and test execution.
2. Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies and hands-on VB programming.
3. Experience in testing/QA of web application solutions in a WebSphere / RedHat OpenShift environment preferred.
4. Must have Experience using Automated Testing tools such as OpenText UFT, Loadrunner, and testing management tools ALM and Jira.
5. Proficient VB Scripts
Deliverables
Deliverables:
Prepare test plans, test cases, scenarios and results documents;
Execute various types of technical tests (unit, functional, integration, system,
regression, penetration, performance and user acceptance testing);
Analyze results and creating reports for Management as needed; Track problems, defects and issues within a large project; Assure the quality of software delivered by the team.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$75.00
