SAP Project Manager
Location: Toronto, ON
Estimated Duration: 6 months
Our client in the public sector has launched a major business transformation of its financial system, driven by the implementation of SAP S4/HANA solution to enable future-state processes. The project is now in the Realize Phase.
The SAP Project Management resource will support the senior Project team in executing key project management activities including risk and issue management, engagement with stakeholders in support of defect management process, and other duties assigned, to maintain progress on critical path activities.
Duties
The SAP Project Management Resource is required as the project continues from the Realize Phase into Deploy and Run Phases. The resource will;
• Manage the process to resolve project issue while collaborating/consulting with the responsible project team leads/team members, consultants, divisional stakeholders and partners on solutions.
• Manage project risk logs and provide mitigations with appropriate contingency plans approved by the business and IT teams
• Lead daily integrated scrum meetings
• Manage the escalation process to Project Director
• Identify project impediments and address them with appropriate urgency and escalation ensuring the calculated critical path can maintain the delivery timeline
• Support the preparation and maintenance of project documentation as necessary based on the SAP implementation phase deliverable schedule
• Identify changes in scope, resource, budget or schedule by use of a project change request and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external stakeholders to assess impact to project milestones and overall delivery schedule
• Support the remaining project planning activities aligned to Activate Methodology (Realize, Deploy, Run), while supporting the execution of the project according to plan
• Manage deadlines and coordinate the project team’s activities as per the project schedule
• Provide leadership to cross?functional teams for quality management of deliverables for remaining Activate Methodology phases
• Provide leadership to the data lead/team responsible for data migration/conversion
• Support the testing cycles (Integration Test Cycle [ITC3, UAT) tasks, including. o Developing/updating test script and test cases, identification of test data, test execution, participate in defect resolution, development of risk mitigation strategies, etc., and prepping for cut-over and Go Live and post live support.
• Support/participate in all the phases and relevant work streams of the project, including project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, Go?Live and post Go?Live support activities.
• Help the City validate proposed functionality and alignment to design with the Systems Integrator and also provide their experience in leading best practices.
• Provide leadership of business processes, accounting principles, systems configuration, enhancements and data to enable related processes.
Qualifications
1. Experience in managing enterprise SAP projects with SAP technologies including: SAP S/4HANA (Finance, Procurement, Project Systems, Asset Accounting, Plant Maintenance, Warehouse Management, Materials Management, Finance, Controlling, Funds Management, Treasury and Risk
Management, Sales and Distribution and SAP Ariba o Certification in SAP Activate PM Methodology and/or PMP would be an asset
2. Experience as the project manager of at least 3 SAP end?to?end implementations
3. A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience in large project/program management with Government jurisdictions and or large private sector organizations
4. Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with various stakeholders including Project Sponsors, Executive Sponsors, Advisory Committees, Change Ambassadors, External Vendors and SAP support
5. Superior written & verbal communication skills (comfortable & confident communicating at all levels, including business partners, leadership and vendors).
6. Ability to lead efficient communication between all project stakeholders, including internal teams and clients.
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary team
8. Experience managing projects with legacy system integrations
9. Experience escalating resolution of issues and defects, working with the vendor as necessary (ex. raising incidents with SAP and bringing them to closure)
10. Experience supporting a strong, collaborative team environment
11. Experience leading project closeout activities including lessons learned, with opportunities for improvement presented in a final project closeout report
12. Strong knowledge of test methodologies.
13. Project excellence spanning Governance, Definition, Planning, Project Management & Control, Financials and Close-out.
14. Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager Change Request will also be an asset.
15. Strong Proficiency in MS Office specifically MS Excel.
16. Ability to work in transformative programs.
17. Tenacious and willing to support the team during peak volumes and workloads with various activities.
18. Strong in process management and controls to minimize risks exposure.
19. Ability to achieve business objectives through influencing and effectively working with key stakeholders.
20. Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic planning skills.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$100.00
