Overview

Our client, a leading organization operating within a highly regulated and security-sensitive environment, is seeking a Corporate Security Manager to support enterprise-wide security, compliance, and risk management initiatives across Canada.

Reporting into senior leadership within Compliance and Security, this individual will play a key role in overseeing government and corporate security programs while ensuring alignment with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, sound judgement, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate security-related risks impacting programs, personnel, infrastructure, and timelines.

This position requires a strategic leader who can balance operational needs with evolving legal and government security requirements while driving continuous improvement across security processes, tools, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a national team of security professionals
  • Maintain and evolve enterprise security risk registers, including remediation tracking and mitigation planning
  • Partner closely with Program Management, Cyber Security, IT, HR, Legal, and Operations teams to support security compliance initiatives
  • Oversee physical security infrastructure including access control systems, alarms, monitoring systems, and emergency response coordination across multiple sites
  • Ensure compliance with federal security requirements, contractual obligations, and controlled goods regulations
  • Support and oversee insider threat response activities, investigations, and mitigation planning
  • Develop, review, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standard operating processes
  • Conduct regular site assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards
  • Manage security clearances, resource authorization tracking, and “need-to-know” access requirements for sensitive programs
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on security-related matters, risk mitigation, and operational impacts
  • Support onboarding and recruitment initiatives for growing security teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to security operations, governance, and compliance frameworks

Required Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience within corporate security, government security, law enforcement, emergency management, or related regulated environments
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience managing and mentoring teams
  • Strong understanding of Canadian government security programs, contractual security requirements, and controlled goods regulations
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or government contracting
  • Strong knowledge of physical security, risk assessment, incident response, and security governance practices
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience interacting across all levels of an organization and external government agencies
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Top Secret clearance

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Security, Law Enforcement, or related discipline
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Familiarity with international security and compliance frameworks such as ITAR, CUI, NIST, CMMC, GDPR, NATO, or NISPOM
  • Experience conducting or supporting sensitive internal investigations
  • Existing Company Security Officer (CSO) or Designated Official experience considered a strong asset

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$120,000 and CA$140,000
