Job Title: Senior Scrum Master – IBM Sterling OMS & Store Next Gen (SaaS Migration Program)
6 Month Contract

4 Days on site in Toronto, ON

Company Overview
We are a global retail and supply chain company currently executing a strategic program to migrate our enterprise clients’ on-premise IBM Sterling Distributed Order Management (OMS) and Store Next Gen solutions to a fully managed SaaS environment (IBM Sterling OMS SaaS on IBM Cloud / multi-tenant architecture). This transformation will deliver always-current releases, faster feature adoption, reduced TCO, and native cloud scalability while preserving deep integrations with inventory, master data, and transactional systems.
Role Overview
We are looking for a battle-tested Senior Scrum Master to lead one of our core migration and enhancement squads (10–14 members) through this high-visibility SaaS upgrade. You will be accountable for agile delivery in a complex environment that touches eCommerce order fulfillment, store replenishment, inventory visibility, and parcel carrier integration — all while transitioning from on-premise to SaaS.
Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Senior Scrum Master for the SaaS migration squad, facilitating all Scrum:
    • Daily Scrum(15 min, hybrid/async)
    • Sprint Planning, Refinement, Demo/Review, Retrospective
    • 3-week sprints aligned to IBM’s SaaS release train
  • Support PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt events as needed.
  • Own and continuously optimize the squad’s Jira and Confluence environment:
    • Advanced Jira configuration (workflows, boards, epics, custom fields, dashboards, release burndown, CFDs)
    • Confluence as the single source of truth for migration runbooks, DoR/DoD, integration maps, and SaaS-specific decisions
  • Shield the team from scope creep and external pressure during a fixed-timeline SaaS cutover
  • Rapidly unblock technical and process impediments related to SaaS tenancy, configuration-as-code, new APIs, and regression impacts
  • Collaborate with IBM’s SaaS product team, client governance boards, and internal architecture on release alignment and dependency management
  • Coach the team and wider program on agile + SAFe practices in a vendor-driven SaaS upgrade context
  • Ensure traceability and auditability of all changes required for SaaS compliance and client sign-off

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years as a Senior Scrum Master (PSM II, SAFe SSM/SPC or equivalent required)
  • Direct experience leading or participating in an On-prem to cloud / SaaS migration
  • Advanced Jira/Confluence administration and governance in large-scale programs
  • Proven ability to run agile teams within a SAFe Release Train or similar scaled framework
  • Strong stakeholder management across client, IBM, and internal teams, keeping accountability and ensure progress against the agreed milestones
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and remove delivery impediments
  • Metrics-driven: uses velocity, cycle time, defect escape rate, and SaaS adoption KPIs to steer delivery
  • Read and understand migration-related materials (ex: authentication, authorization, monitoring).

Highly Desirable

  • Previous work on IBM Sterling OMS SaaS implementations
  • Experience with IBM’s SaaS migration tools, Configurator, and quarterly upgrade cycles
  • Familiarity with SaaS tenancy models, org splitting, and data migration strategies
  • Retail or 3PL client-side experience during a major OMS SaaS transformation
  • Deep domain knowledge in:
    • eCommerce order fulfillment & omnichannel orchestration
    • Store replenishment strategies and inventory allocation
    • Parcel delivery & carrier integration
    • Master data and transactional system integrations (SAP, Manhattan WMS, Blue Yonder, etc.)

Success Metrics

  • Squad delivers committed scope
  • Zero critical defects escaped to client UAT during cutover waves
  • Jira/Confluence adoption = 100 %; audit-ready documentation
  • Successful parallel run and final SaaS go-live for assigned clients/domains
  • Measurable improvement in team velocity
