About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Analyst, Compensation to support the execution and ongoing development of broad-based compensation programs across a large, complex global organization.

This role will focus on market pricing, compensation benchmarking, pay structures, job leveling, internal equity, annual compensation planning, and compensation analytics. The successful candidate will partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and business leaders to provide data-driven compensation recommendations and support effective and competitive compensation practices.

This is a highly analytical opportunity for someone looking to deepen their expertise in compensation while gaining exposure to a variety of business functions and stakeholders within a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead market pricing and compensation benchmarking using multiple survey and market data sources.
  • Conduct job matching, market analysis, and compensation research to support pay range, grade, and job-leveling recommendations.
  • Analyze base pay, variable compensation, range positioning, pay compression, and internal equity.
  • Identify compensation risks and provide data-driven recommendations to address them.
  • Build and maintain compensation models, reporting, and recurring analytics.
  • Support annual merit and compensation planning, including budget modeling and employee-level compensation analysis.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Finance, and business leaders on compensation offers, promotions, retention requests, and exceptions.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze market intelligence to maintain competitive compensation structures.
  • Support pay transparency, compensation compliance, documentation, and audit-related activities.
  • Utilize HR technology, analytics, automation, and responsible AI-enabled tools to improve compensation processes, reporting, and data quality.
  • Prepare clear compensation materials and translate complex data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Analytics, Finance, or a comparable analytical function.
  • Strong hands-on experience with market pricing and compensation benchmarking.
  • Experience with compensation surveys, job matching, market data analysis, and pay range recommendations.
  • Superior analytical skills and strong financial acumen.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to develop and maintain complex compensation models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or another relevant quantitative field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in broad-based compensation and be comfortable working with large amounts of compensation and market data.

They should understand areas such as salary structures, market benchmarking, internal equity, pay compression, job architecture, merit planning, and compensation recommendations.

Candidates from Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Analytics, Finance, or similar analytical backgrounds may be considered, provided they possess strong analytical capabilities and an understanding of compensation practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCP and/or CECP designation, or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking databases such as Radford, Mercer, WTW, or Salary.com.
  • Working knowledge of job architecture, compensation structures, incentive programs, pay equity, and pay transparency requirements.
  • Experience supporting annual merit or compensation planning cycles.
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools, including ChatGPT and/or Claude.
  • Experience improving or automating compensation analytics and reporting processes.

Compensation

Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000
Annual Bonus Target: 15% of base salary

Additional compensation may be available depending on applicable incentive and long-term compensation programs.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$85,000 and CA$100,000
