Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) – CWMS Implementation (Construction Industry)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to lead requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design activities for the implementation and optimization of a Construction-focused Contingent Workforce Management Solution (CWMS), specifically platforms such as CMiC MyTrack / MyTrack or similar vendor management systems used within large-scale construction and infrastructure environments.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, HR, procurement, field services, project controls, safety/compliance, IT, and third-party vendors to define business requirements and translate them into scalable CWMS solutions that support contractor onboarding, workforce tracking, compliance management, time capture, billing, and reporting processes.

The ideal candidate has strong experience implementing contingent workforce technologies within construction, engineering, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure organizations and understands the operational realities of managing high-volume subcontractors, trades, and project-based labor.


Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Lead workshops, stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and process mapping exercises across business and technical teams.
  • Gather, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements for CWMS implementations and enhancements.
  • Analyze current-state contingent labor processes and design future-state workflows aligned to construction operations.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Facilitate alignment between procurement, field operations, HR, finance, safety, and IT stakeholders.

CWMS / Vendor Management System Implementation

  • Support implementation and configuration activities for construction-focused CWMS platforms such as CMiC MyTrack or similar systems.
  • Define requirements related to:
    • Contractor onboarding and badging
    • Trade/vendor compliance
    • Safety certifications and orientation tracking
    • Time entry and approvals
    • Union and labor classifications
    • Field workforce mobilization
    • Cost code allocation and project billing
    • Rate card management
    • Site access controls
    • Workforce reporting and analytics
  • Collaborate with implementation partners, vendors, and internal technical teams to support integrations with ERP, HRIS, payroll, finance, and project management systems.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify opportunities to improve contingent workforce processes, automation, governance, and reporting.
  • Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Support testing strategy, UAT coordination, defect management, and production readiness activities.
  • Assist with organizational change management, training materials, and end-user adoption initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions align with construction compliance, safety, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Senior Business Analyst.
  • Hands-on experience gathering requirements for CWMS, VMS, workforce management, or contractor management implementations.
  • Experience working within construction, engineering, utilities, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of contingent workforce lifecycle management and field workforce operations.
  • Experience with platforms such as:
    • CMiC MyTrack
    • SAP Fieldglass
    • Beeline
    • Magnit
    • or similar workforce/vendor management systems
  • Strong skills in:
    • Requirements elicitation
    • Business process mapping
    • Workshop facilitation
    • Gap analysis
    • User story creation
    • UAT coordination
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction ERP platforms such as CMiC, Oracle Primavera, or SAP.
  • Knowledge of construction workforce compliance requirements, union environments, and safety tracking processes.
  • Familiarity with integrations involving:
    • HRIS systems
    • Payroll platforms
    • Site access/security systems
    • Financial/ERP systems
    • Project scheduling platforms
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile certifications are considered an asset.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate combines strong business analysis expertise with practical knowledge of construction workforce operations and CWMS implementations. They are comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and can bridge the gap between field operations, business leadership, and technical delivery teams to ensure successful implementation outcomes.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$115.00
