Any specific tools/skillset:
- 8+ years of project management experience, ideally within insurance, actuarial, or financial systems domains.
- Strong financial acumen with hands?on experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, including structured Jira usage for delivery reporting and team execution.
- Hands-on experience managing Data Analytics or Data Engineering projects, ideally involving Databricks, Snowflake, BDC (Business Data Cloud/Azure), and SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud).
- Demonstrated success delivering large cross-functional or regulatory-driven initiatives.
- Familiarity with actuarial concepts (valuation, capital, modeling, reporting).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to deliver complex, multi?stakeholder initiatives.
Preferred
- Experience with actuarial systems such as SAP HANA, SAC, or Moody’s AXIS.
- Experience leading LICAT, IFRS 17, capital reporting, or actuarial model modernization programs.
- PMP, PRINCE2, PMI?ACP, or comparable certification.
Role profile description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high?impact Actuarial projects spanning reporting modernization, regulatory capital changes, infrastructure upgrades, and advanced analytics (including AI). This contractor role works closely with global business, actuarial, and technology teams, requiring strong delivery leadership and the ability to navigate complex dependencies across a highly integrated actuarial environment.
The ideal candidate brings experience in project management, actuarial and financial systems, and cross?functional stakeholder alignment. They will successfully lead multiple simultaneous initiatives, each requiring strong oversight, close collaboration across diverse teams, and engagement with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC) activities – from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies.
- Establish and maintain project governance structures, RAID logs, and communication plans.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to keep the project on track.
- Manage project budget, helping to ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
- Ensure project alignment with actuarial business strategies, regulatory expectations, and enterprise architecture.
- Engage and collaborate with global business and technology teams, actuarial leaders, finance partners, and PMO.
- Help to facilitate steering committees, status reviews, and cross-functional working sessions.
- Help to manage vendor relationships where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to project-management frameworks and regulatory obligations.
- Develop an understanding of actuarial processes, models, valuation, data flows, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams on solution design, data integration, model changes, and infrastructure modernization.
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$80.00 and CA$95.00
