Position Overview

The Supply Chain Management Specialist III is a strategic individual contributor responsible for delivering high-impact market intelligence and geopolitical risk insights that inform sourcing and category strategies. This role partners closely with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and Risk teams to proactively identify supply chain risks, assess financial exposure, and develop mitigation strategies that protect cost competitiveness and supply continuity.

This position serves as a subject matter expert, translating complex global market dynamics, tariff structures, and geopolitical developments into clear, actionable procurement strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & Analysis

  • Monitor global commodity markets, supply-demand fundamentals, and cost drivers impacting key procurement categories
  • Track competing infrastructure and capital projects (e.g., pipelines, LNG, renewables, data centers, industrial facilities) that may affect labor and material availability
  • Develop forward-looking market outlooks and scenario-based analyses
  • Synthesize macroeconomic, industry, and supplier-level insights into actionable recommendations

Tariff & Trade Policy Analysis

  • Monitor global tariff regimes, trade agreements, sanctions, and regulatory changes
  • Evaluate financial and operational impacts of tariffs and trade policies on sourcing strategies
  • Advise on mitigation approaches such as tariff engineering, country-of-origin shifts, and supplier diversification

Geopolitical Risk Assessment

  • Analyze geopolitical developments (e.g., elections, trade disputes, regulatory changes, conflicts) and their potential supply chain impacts
  • Identify emerging risks across regions, suppliers, and materials
  • Develop risk scenarios and stress-test supply chains against potential disruptions

Strategic Risk Mitigation

  • Partner with Category Managers to assess vulnerabilities and co-develop mitigation strategies
  • Support initiatives such as dual sourcing, regional diversification, supplier risk management, and inventory optimization
  • Contribute to long-term category strategies focused on resilience and cost stability

Insight Delivery & Stakeholder Influence

  • Deliver concise, data-driven insights to supply chain leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Develop executive-ready reports, dashboards, and briefings
  • Influence decision-making through subject matter expertise without direct authority

Tools & Intelligence Frameworks

  • Utilize market intelligence platforms, trade databases, and analytics tools
  • Maintain structured monitoring systems for tariffs, market trends, and geopolitical developments
  • Continuously enhance intelligence methodologies and reporting effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business, Political Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in market intelligence, geopolitical analysis, supply chain strategy, or strategic sourcing
  • Strong knowledge of global trade policy, tariffs, sanctions, and geopolitical risk factors
  • Experience supporting procurement or category management in a global organization

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $37.00 and $50.00
