Job Title: Transformation Project Manager – Change Management
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 2 Years
We are seeking an execution-focused Transformation Project Manager / Change Manager to support a large-scale workforce transition program, moving work from decentralized teams into centralized shared service centers. This role sits within a Transformation group (not steady-state operations) and is focused on driving execution and forward progress rather than high-level design.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external consulting partners, and Global Business Services to ensure that detailed transition activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
-
Drive execution and progress
- Proactively plan and drive workstreams from “current state” to “go-live” of shared service centers.
- Turn high-level playbooks and outlines into detailed, actionable plans.
- Ensure milestones and deliverables are clearly defined, owned, and tracked.
-
Facilitate and coordinate
- Set up and lead recurring meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Prepare agendas, document decisions, and manage action and risk logs.
- Follow up consistently to ensure owners complete agreed actions.
-
Project & change management
- Support workforce transition and process migration from local/decentralized environments to centralized/shared services.
- Coordinate with other transformation, finance, and GBS stakeholders to align timelines and dependencies.
- Contribute to change and communications activities (stakeholder updates, comms prep, etc.) as needed, with primary emphasis on execution.
-
Stakeholder management
- Work with internal driven resources and consulting partners to clarify responsibilities and handoffs.
- Escalate risks, issues, and decision needs in a timely, structured way.
- Provide clear, concise status updates to leadership.
-
Planning & reporting
- Maintain detailed project/workstream plans, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Track budget implications of staffing choices (contract vs. conversion) in collaboration with leadership.
- Identify opportunities to transition work away from high-cost consulting resources to driven resources.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, Change Manager, or Transition Manager on large-scale transformation or workforce transition programs.
- Demonstrated experience moving work from decentralized business units to centralized/shared service centers.
- Strong execution orientation:
- Comfortable in environments where scope is not fully defined.
- Able to create structure from high-level guidance and incomplete information.
- Excellent facilitation and coordination skills:
- Running meetings, aligning stakeholders, driving decisions, and following through on actions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
- Experience working in or alongside large enterprises (e.g., complex matrix organizations).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in oil and gas or similarly complex, asset-intensive industries (bonus, not required).
- Prior experience with major ERP / transformation programs (e.g., Oracle Cloud, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM/Customer Experience platforms).
- Background working with or alongside large consulting firms (e.g., Accenture) on transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Global Business Services (GBS) and shared services operating models.
Engagement Details
- Duration: Anticipated 2–3 years aligned to the broader transformation program timeline.
