Job Title: Transition Manager – Shared Services
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Estimated Duration: 6 months
Our client is seeking a Transition Manager to support its global Shared Services transformation. This role will play a key part in managing the transition of business processes across multiple service delivery models.
The Transition Manager will provide governance, coordination, and execution oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring transitions are delivered on time, with quality, and minimal business disruption. This role offers exposure to senior leadership, global stakeholders, and large-scale transformation initiatives, with clear growth opportunities as the Shared Services organization matures.
Key Responsibilities Transition Governance & Execution
- Develop working knowledge of functional processes to engage appropriate stakeholders and ensure successful transitions.
- Manage end-to-end transition plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, service providers, and functional leaders to ensure smooth execution.
- Establish and maintain governance cadence, reporting, and escalation mechanisms.
- Ensure consistency in transition standards, documentation, and quality checkpoints.
- Assess transition issues and discrepancies, determine scope and impact, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and service partners.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Facilitate cross-functional transition working sessions to align teams, surface issues, and drive resolution.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for transition coordination with external service providers.
- Partner with internal teams to align transition activities with operational readiness.
- Provide clear, concise reporting to leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Continuous Improvement
- Conduct post-transition reviews and capture lessons learned.
- Support process stabilization and readiness for steady-state operations.
- Contribute to the development of scalable transition methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in transition management, PMO, shared services, or large-scale business transformation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work across cross-functional and global teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with outsourcing, shared services, or captive delivery models.
- Exposure to finance or back-office operations (e.g., Source-to-Pay, Opportunity-to-Cash, Record-to-Report).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud) or service management tools.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or structured improvement experience.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $40.00 and $50.00
