Job Title: UI UX Specialist – Power Platform

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
    
Estimated Duration: 3 Months

Our client in the public sector is continuously improving its operations and use of technologies to meet business needs including legislative requirements. In order to facilitate these changes and evaluate best options, the Client requires an experienced User Experience Specialist who will develop and build small to medium business applications within their development environment.  
A well-rounded specialist with experience in both User Experience & User Interface development.   There are several initiatives already in queue that require a UX/UI Specialist. 

Duties
•            Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications using Client's Development Environment.
•            Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
•            Develop and manage application workflows to streamline and automate business processes.
•            Coach and mentor team members on UX/UI development and theories.
•            Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and UX/UI standards.
•            Ensure the application development complies with AODA requirements.
•            Review, assess and resolve technical issues, implement and document solutions.

Qualifications
It is important that the Services be undertaken by a UX / UI Specialist who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.

Qualifications and Experience:
1.           University degree in computer science or a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.           Extensive experience with MS Power Platform development environment and its modules; Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Copilot. 
3.           Extensive experience in implementing software solutions that adhere to AODA requirements.
4.           Extensive experience in the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, and industry best practices, considering strategic business objectives, user needs, and systems constraints.
5.           Extensive experience working with user-centered design (UCD) techniques & demonstrated ability to incorporate those UCD principles into architecture and user interfaces.
6.           Extensive experience in gathering and translating user requirements from diverse stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), users, and business analysts. Skilled in transforming these ideas into prototype design mock-ups, with a strong foundation in design thinking.  

Technical Capabilities:
1.           Microsoft Power Platform Development Certifications
2.           Experience with service-oriented, event-driven, and microservices architectures
3.           Experience with RDBMS (MS SQL, Dataverse) data stores
4.           Experience with software development project tools and defect tracking systems like Azure DevOps
5.           Experience with high-level UX principles such as user stories, persona building, prototype/prototype development approaches
6.           Knowledge of agile software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile Scrum methodology

Deliverables
•            Lead development and design workshops for ensuring applications comply with AODA Requirements. 
•            Prototype Applications on the MS Power Platform development environment
•            Assist in the creating of application development standards to ensure adherence to best practices and UX/UI standards.
•            Review, assess and resolve technical issues, implement and document solutions.

 

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$45.00 and CA$75.00
